i adore the variations of the first opening through the whole show. i remember what a wast universe the 1st opening was foreshadowing and what a feeling of "there is so much more" came into my mind everytime i heard it. especially after g'kar told us we are, well, all ants. this is all so incredible well made and woven. this series is really a piece of art, showing and teaching us so much.

There were so many great actors in this show, the best ever made. O'Hare, Boxleitner, Andreas Katsulas, Peter Jurasik, etc. But one who is never mentioned is: Christopher Franke's music, surely as much a character in this amazing series as any other.
@AlexJones-ue1ll4 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt go that far. Anyone who watched it back then knew about the music and how amazing it was, especially after the break toward Crusade the utter brilliance of Franke was obvious. He created several minutes of original score for each and every episode, something between 10-20 minutes each week; he would reuse themes, of course, but much was newly writen and performed. I dont think that has ever been done before or afterwards.

@wtc175 You have to remember that Star Trek and Babylon 5 are just radically different shows with different outlooks and moral messages. Star Trek is an optimist's dream, it's the dream of a better future, and the moral messages correspond appropriately. Whereas with Babylon 5, it's a more realistic portrayal of the future, and thus has entirely different messages and such. Personally, I love both shows for what they are. :] @JayGriffinblaze I like Firefly, BSG, B5 and Star Trek. :[

I think the creator is working on bringing it back, remember dude J michael got the initial idea for this back in 1986 and it was not screened untill the mid 90's so we could still see something as he could be working on it right now :) we might not see it for a another few more years as he obviously likes to make sure he gets it right by taking his time something that was very well reflected in the show.

i love ST especially Voyager because even the utopia that roddenberry envisioned is not likely because as JMS showed us with B5 the human condition of war, deceit and the love of freedom, humankind will always be battling the forces of evil. and our sense of justice will be a call for heroes to fight tyranny and oppression. and our basic yearning to be free

the stargate is the main mechanism to transport the characters to a different setting to tell a story. Like ST's warp speed/transporter, B5's Jump Gates, SW's Lightspeed. @gasdfw5 Stargate actually has more in common than B5, probably any sci-fi series, in the fact that it had the overarching story arc too. Characters, changed over time, died, were reassigned, there were consequences to their actions on a large as well as small scale. I put SG over ST. Anyway there were MANY episodes where the gate was shut down, by Earth & others/sabotaged etc, from abt the 4th series, they acquire, later build their own spaceships from retro-engineering alien tech,

@Scifimaster92 Exactly! It's perfectly okay for two shows to be on the same level, not everything is better or worse than everything else. Star Trek and BSG, for example, one is set in the distant past, while the other is set multiple centuries in the future, and they have completely different feels and atmospheres, as well as moral messages. They're hardly even comparable, but they excel in different areas and fall in other areas. There's really no point comparing them.

A B6 space station? In a universe of a series in several times is mentioned the Babylon 5 last of the Babylon stations was? Ehh illogically? I like the series and know them exactly. There is no material for an other Babylon station. Babylon 5 was not destroyed from the EA without reason. Maby a other big Space Station from the ISA but not a Babylon 6.
@Xalorr8 жыл бұрын
An other question. I have had a look at the side sometimes. Can it be this, the whole project has to do nothing with the B5 to universe separate only one similar name carries? If so OK then it is good. If, nevertheless, it plays the whole design has no resemblance. With it also no basis for a connection with the B5 universe.
@Antarius19878 жыл бұрын
hi the idea is in a space game make a space station with the spirit of Babylon 5. not exactly the same and not in the same universe. It is more of a project inspired by the series. Instead of a council of aliens, there would be a council of different players guilds. But the aim is the same peace under the gamer. We have tried to grab as many ideas from the series as possible. The name of part from the security is White Star and Blackstar. The Core of the White star is a Ship of the Polaris Class. A small agile Korvet. However, the idea comes very close. So far, we have 15 guilds and 6 allies, all in all more than a thousand players in star citizen who currently support the project. Not only in USA or German we have member over all of the Earth. oh and this project is for the game star citizen, its the moment in alpha status. We hope we can release the projekt then we have Babylon 6 in a pc game. A real free neutral space station, just like babylon 5 begins. Ps. sorry for my bad english.

I loved Star Trek. But then I watched B5....and ST just seemed so full of flaws. The storylines were weak and the characters poor in comparison. One can view the Palestine/Israel/USA situation with different viewpoints when you watch how Londo and G'Kar's confrontation develop. B5 show life as it would be - not idealistic as Star-Trek would have you believe '(no greed towards wealth...only aspirations of bettering oneself ' said J.L.Picard). ST never talks of gravity on the Enterprise!
