I just stumbled upon your Vanilla WoW Music & Ambience! I love it so much! I haven’t played it a long time & miss it terribly. The music is calming & brings back wonderful memories of discovering new lands & making new faraway friends. It was a much needed escape after my dad died. Thank you for making these gifts for us to relive something we may never experience again.

One of the best zones in original WoW. I love that the Devs were going to have it be so dark you'd be required to carry a lantern to see anything. That would have been truly epic.

Every time I leveled up a character and "we" wanted to reach Duskwood I performed a little roleplay for myself including dressing up properly for the journey, holding a little lantern and having the most radiant of my pets (combat and non-combat) on my side. One of my favorite zones. Great quest chains Sven's journal, bride of the embalmer, variety of enemies to fight, and that creepy atmosphere. Caves, overrun farms, undead, a ghost town (with a vendor for some odd reason), and some mystical valley with skull level monsters...this one made you feel how darkness was overrunning the realm of man and their efforts to hold out were futile. Redridge had the orcs, but this was a whole other ballgame. Waling the paths of Duskood you could feel eyes on you. Thanks for the memories.

One of my favorite questing zones to this day. The complete darkness, undead roaming the forests, werewolves lurking in orchards, ominous music, wierd characters and hermits and to top it off.... elite monsters. Mor Ladim suddenly rushing you , Stitches walking acrods the road.... you were truly never safe, not even inside Darkshire
Nothing will beat swimming across that river as a level 8 or 9 and seeing the white wolves and pale spiders moving through the trees. The strange feeling of danger around every corner despite being so close to where you started once you're finally questing through there. I remember wandering into the glade where the dragon portals were and seeing a giant spectral boss and having that sense of wonder, unbelieving that anyone would ever be strong enough to fight it.

I remember when I had my own guild named "The Steel Legion" and it was me (lvl 49 Blood Elf Hunter) with 20-25 other guildmembers (lvls ranged from 13 - 36). We took the zeplin from Orgrimmar to STV and marched up to duskwood, killing all animals and Alliance on the way. We marched toward the Alliance town/village and attacked it, we retreated a short distance away from the village. After a while a lvl 70 Dranei Shaman came with blue gear and came at us with such confidence that he would kill us off. I told everyone to attack him and the once he attacked got healed constantly by our healers and I drained all of his mana with my (mana draining) sting and killed his totems. He started losing alot of HP and also mana, he started to retreat but by then it was too late. We killed him, we were suprised and very proud! We marched westwards and came across a rogue (lvl 60-70) and killed her off and also a paladin (lvl 60-70), then we marched to Westfall and attacked their village, alot of alliance showed up (most high lvl skulls) and a huge battle took place horde and alliance were running around and killing each other. Eventually they got the upper hand, we had to retreat to Elwyn Forrest to one of the fishing cottages there. One of my guild members opend the casket in the cottage and found a lvl 18 or 19 epic dagger (twink weapon). It was a very good day and hopefully I will remember this day until the day I die. I have many other pvp raid memories with my guilds, my guilds were not for PVE acquiring the best gear, it was a pvp guild that was focusing on attacking alliance towns and having lots of fun! We sure did have alot of fun. I wanted to share my wow experience because I know there will be people appreciating it as I do when I read old TBC Vanilla players sharing their experiences of the game. I really want to play Classic (played Vanilla the first time when I was 13-14 years old) and now im almost 28, have two kids, a wife and im studying to become a teacher in philosophy and I just dont have the time to spend on playing this game anymore.

I will NEVER forget my first WoW character. Lost. Alone. Unsure where to go from Goldshire, I asked in general chat for some assistance. A gallant level 30+ character sends me an invite and bravely leads me through the Elywynn Forest and across the river into Duskwood. I worry when I start seeing the level “skull” spiders. He encourages me to stay with him. I get surrounded and massacred by every wolf and spider north of Darkshire. He drops party. That character is still a corpse to this day.

Always found it really cool how despite being right on the border of Elwynn and Westfall; just being able to swim across easily, you had to backtrack and quest Redridge before being strong enough to go to Duskwood. And you turn back from Redridge because the neighboring area is a black lava area with level 50s. " I guess Duskwood is a more viable direction".
