1 got 2 oz perfect for vanilla extract for my son's wedding 12x 17, at target I had to make them small due to the amount of guest

Hi Lisa, That's a great idea for a wedding and I'm sure you had quite a few compliments, did you label the bottles? I've just recently bought Avery labels and designed labels for my bottled vanilla extract, my wife was really surprised and pleased with the design. Would love to see what you've done. Thank you, MarknLily

Is it okay to use amber glass bottles when making vanilla extract?
@KillerGrubwithMarkBagley4 жыл бұрын
Hello Taylor, Yes it's ok to use amber colored bottles, the amber bottles protect the extract from the suns UV rays which can effect the quality of the vanilla extract. I don't use the amber bottles because I store my vanilla in a pantry that isn't effected by the UV rays. Great question, if you should have any other questions, comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you, MarknLily

Great review as always Mark. I'm looking for 2oz & 4oz bottles as well. Between the Vanilla Beans, the booze & the bottles, it becomes an expensive hobby, but none the less I love it !

Hi Mikki, You are 1000% correct, it is an expensive hobby but way more rewarding than a lot of other hobbies (at least for me) you shouldn't have much any problem finding those size bottles, I've run across them on Amazon quite a few times. Thank you, MarknLily

HELLO AGAIN MARK. I LIKE THE BOTTLES BUT I AM USING PINT BALL JARS, SINCE I ALREADY HAD THEM. THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEW ON THE BOTTLES.

Jeni, pint ball jars work perfectly for extracts as well, I always look forward to your comments. Someday I'd like to have a private conversation with you. Thank you, Mark

@@KillerGrubwithMarkBagley - I have seen videos where people make vanilla extract in jars. Maybe this is a dumb question (I'm new to this), but when they use the extract, do they just stick the teaspoon into the jar? Doesn't that introduce bacteria into the extract after they went to the trouble of sterilizing the bottle (unless they sterilize the spoon)? As far as bottles, I love the 8.5-oz. you have (especially the square). With a large opening (as opposed to the small McCormick's bottle), is it difficult to pour into a tiny teaspoon and is the bottle a no-drip lip? It'd be a shame to waste even a drop of precious homemade extract. My hand shakes a little, thus my pouring concerns. I was thinking about getting those bottle spout thingies that go on liquor bottles so I can slow the pour, but I'm not sure they would fit on these kind of bottles.

Can you put a link to the bottles on Amazon, I am not finding them?
@KillerGrubwithMarkBagley4 жыл бұрын
Vickie, first thank you for subscribing to my channel, I truly appreciate it. First thing this morning I read your comment and went directly to Amazon to get you the link, did my search for the Mockins 8.5 ounce bottles and also came up with nothing, the only bottle I could find by Mockins was a 17 ounce bottle so I went to my orders and clicked on that link and it took me to the 17 ounce bottle sooooooooo I went directly to their website and searched, it appears that they don't offer the 8.5 ounce bottles anymore so I sent them an email to inquire about the availability of the bottles, when and if I get a reply from them I will let you know. Here is the link to the other 8 ounce bottles I've ordered that I am also very happy with. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078T1DZZJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If you need anything else or have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you, Mark

Vickie, I heard back from Mockins today and they are experiencing material and staffing shortages due to the "Covid" but stated that they will have the 8.5 ounce bottles back in stock and available for delivery within a couple weeks, I will keep you posted with any updates I become aware of. Thank you, Mark
