It's the one thing I liked about Countdown... at least the performances were live contrary to TopPop. Everything stands or falls the moment they went and performed on the Countdown stage, so they'd better put enough studio hours in to perfect their act.

Altijd interessant, die artiesten en alle sounds in de overgang van de 80's naar 90's. Elektronische, zeg maar hoekige of ronduit simpele synth-hooks kwamen of waren al net 2 jaar aan het opkomen. Zoals iets snellere basis beats (House/Acid). Tegelijkertijd kwam rap en Hip Hop sterk op, of was al sterk vertegenwoordigd. Tot aan zo'n beetje '92 werden al deze voornoemde elementen in popmuziek geregeld ook allemaal wel gemengd in een track(denk bv. aan de KLF).

Fun Fact: as we all know Vanilla Ice clearly sampled music from Queens song Under Pressure and in doing so Queen threatened a lawsuit against Vanilla Ice and instead of a lawsuit they decided to work it out outside of court and vanilla ice ended up buying the rights to the song Under Pressure by Queen for reportedly 4 million dollars at that time and I wouldn't doubt it that he still owns it to this day. I have a feeling he made that money back 10 fold since then and Queen kicks themselves in the butt for doing so
