I just remember my first character back than in 2005. A nightelf hunter. I was completly overhelmed by this game and this world. I was just thrown into this world, running around somewhere in Teldrassil with no idea how big this world is. I was just a little nightelf on a tree. Those quests where super hard, not questi or other quest helper addons were available, everything must be read. Hard times, but good times.

Listening to this makes me REALLY want to get back into playing WOW, but then I realise that it'll never be the same as it was when I was playing non-stop between 2006-12. WOW really had an almost indescribable/unbelievable magic back then that was slowly lost with each expansion post Lich King. I'll forever treasure the memories I made playing WOW during the golden years, even if those memories are painful to relive considering the world I fell in love with is no more. I know we now have classic servers but I dunno, it just isn't the same somehow. Perhaps it was being a teenager and being exposed to a wondrous world and going on adventure after adventure, exploring incredible landscapes and listening to this amazing music. Back then WOW really felt like a tangible other world (dare I say metaverse). No other game has come close to recreating the atmosphere of playing WOW back in the day. I'd give anything to go back and do it all over again. It breaks my heart seeing how much WOW has fallen since the golden years, but at least we have the memories, youtube videos and wonderful music compilations such as this. We were truly part of something magical.

First time I ever played I came down from this massive tree, and I was met with the brightest colors and the most amazing landscape I'd ever seen. A campfire raging and elves and bears dancing around it. Someone on a huge cat came up to me and jumped around. I was in awe. I will never forget it. Just picked up WoW after 10+ years. My first character ever was a Night Elf Warrior. When I turned it on for the 1st time last night, it all came rushing back to me. The music, the color. I have a severe mental health disorder. Whenever things get hard in life, I come back to WoW videos. I haven’t played the game in 14 years but I still feel the same comfort I did as a teenager when I would log on and all my problems would melt away for a little while. This makes me miss Vanilla. I quit WoW in the late stages of Cata but have always felt most nostalgic about vanilla and to a lesser extent BC. Want to get back into WoW but I think I'll wait for classic servers.

Hey :-) The WoW community has changed a lot. Hopefully the ones that enjoy Retail (and they are not old players) will stay away from Vanilla. They will not understand the spirit & cooperation from Vanilla. You can try Legion, is not bad. But I have to say, it's nothing like Vanilla. Kind regards, Meisio

I remember being 10 years old and playing wow for the first time. I made a night elf warrior. I remember just walking around shadowglen for hours on end think that’s all the game had to offer and I loved every second of it. I remember being so engrossed in the game that it genuinely felt like I was physically sucked into the world and I was actually living in it. God I miss that feeling

Hi again, Meisio, I commented over at Thousand Needles. Great job on Teldrassil. I have listened to other zones; I suppose the one I was really looking for was pre-Cata Darkshore, and I found it. Over the years I myself made video captures of areas, but nothing like what you do. These soundtracks are very detailed, and the audio is very clean.
