Yeah. :( The most long lasting pet rodents are chinchillas that can live up to 20 years though, but they are quite different to hamsters.

My hamster lived four years surprisingly and passed away from illness two months ago he died in my hands and my family had a funeral for him he was like my best friend and I cried for days but I loved him so much

To all who ask: Has vanilla died? Yes he died 4 months ago on July 1 and the owner of the calal himself said the reason for this response: (He suddenly became ill one day, so I took him to the vets where it turned out he had a respiratory illness (basically pneumonia). The vet gave us antibiotics, but he went downhill very fast and sadly passed two days later in my hands. Prey animals are very good at hiding their symptoms and by the time they appear ill, it can unfortunately be too late to treat them. If you hold your hamster up to your ear in a silent room and listen very closely and there is a little clicking sound as they breathe, this is a warning sign and you should take them to the vets immediately. I wish I had known this 😩💔 Hopefully this information can help others. Please listen closely to your hamster every day.)

I listened to my hamster and I think I heard a clicking sound but I’m not shite I mean it sounds like a younger that are very wet and when you open your mouth could you please tell me if it’s the sound!
