La nostalgie ^^ Il y a dans cette vidéo des joueurs d'une guilde avec qui je jouais il y a 20 ans ! Mais ces joueurs en question n’étaient pas très pvp et il y a avait une sacrée différence de stuff avec Gegon. C’était ça le piment du serveur Archimonde à l’époque il fallait être toujours sur tes garde quand tu te baladais de zone en zone :) C'est con mais cette période a marqué ma vie

I remember the Ovski videos with TOEP + ZG trinket insta Pyro-Pom/Pyro/fireblast. I also remember in TBC playing Ovski on his rogue in arena with a druid in 2on2 as Mage+DiscPriest at 2300 and those games lasted like 45mins where both sides probably were thinking "Can it please end???" Epic times in 2005-2007 :D

People are stupid to say he sucks. He shows a great deal of situational awareness in his fights. He actually paid attention to a rogue using a fire reflect trinket and switched mid cast to a frost spell (people RARELY used those in random pvp). He knows to use improved silence before finishing casters to stop them from casting any spells to try and save themselves. He knows how to use LoS to his advantage, and has amazing accuracy with his grenades. You idiots dissing were most likely keyboard turners or never even played vanilla. It's funny how everyone gets pissed when shitty players lose in vanilla movies. Newsflash the majority of players were crappy back then. I was a top end resto druid and was invited to many top end guild's pre made battleground groups in vanilla. Now I am average at best in live. One thing this video teaches is thank GOD they added a reasonable time cap to CC. Those polymorphs were beyond ridiculous. There are videos of rogues sapping after vanishing and had enough time to sit and eat to full health and re stealth before the players was out.

Joseph Curtis realising fireward style animation on rogue which would mean fire reflector and one expected to realise as much in vanilla high end pvp. granade? macrolol gegon was slightly above medicore at best but he's a decent dueler which where he shines at. For brawler vanilla mage i sugest you watch vurtne or elderone as duelist instead.

What newer WoW players don't know: 1) Although polymorph could last the full time (50 seconds) in PvP, and wasn't limited to 8 or 10 seconds as it is now, there was an increased chance for it to break after 10 or 15 seconds compared to PvE. But since Sap didn't have a periodic chance to break, it could be chained indefinitely, resulting in a nerf to a talent that caused Sap to not break stealth from 100% to 90% chance. This increased chance to break was why mages who used polymorph then bandage or evocation would frequently recast polymorph before using a 2.5~6 second damage spell, despite that the elapsed duration would be much less than 50 seconds. 2) Gegon was on an arena team that definitely got the highest rank of Gladiator in the first expansion to WoW, and might have gotten #1 in the server battlegroup. 3) The black ram at the start is a reward from the PvP honor system in WoW, which required a certain rate of activity and PvP success each week to achieve. It could be purchased upon reaching Rank 11 (Commander in the Alliance, Lieutenant General in the Horde). At one point Blizzard estimated that only 1.4% of active PvPers should be able to achieve this rank. Gegon's shoulderpads could be purchased at Rank 13. As only 0.1% of active PvPers could reach Rank 14, we can estimate that less than 0.3% of PvPers were at Rank 13 at any given time. 4) The trinkets that Gegon used (and avoided using in the second part of this movie) were obtained from PvE, and required working well with a large group of people in events that had to be scheduled. The particular trinkets he used were obtained from the starting raids but were still among the best in the game for PvP. At the start of Gegon's third PvP movie, he shows scenes from hardest raid dungeon in classic WoW, and in his last one he is wearing the 'tier 2.5' armor set from Ahn'Qiraj, the second-hardest raid instance in classic, and maybe using weapons from the hardest raid. These were 40-person raid instances that dropped 2 or 3 epic items per boss.

i got rank 13, to get rank 14 you would need to pvp wsg arathi basin almost 24/7 i remember the grind, it was 4 of my friends and me, i was the only one of my friends who dint get rank 14 it was too much and nobody knew how to play a mage =P cause when my friends would get sleepy hes bro would take over hahah i dont know if you remember but the weapons for rank 14 werent realesed till after a while i dint get rank 14 cause i dint know we were gonna get weapons so i stopped then they realesed the weapons and my rank went down and i dint want to grind that shit anymore.. yes it was a hell of a grind but man that was the best gaming experience of my life, such a good game back then

Rohkiani311006 I believe polymorph would break ON PLAYERS after 15 sec because all CCs would break if you were out of combat for more than 8secs - which didn’t happen in PVE as mobs kept aggro in you, but which was automatic after a few seconds if you weren’t attacked in PvP. It has to be checked though.

It was not always the mechanics. The number of people that are new to the game, with little clue and also what the game's limitations were at the time, made it impossible to play like we do today. Things changed gradually with each new iteration of patches and expansions. Now, even the classes and specs are vastly different from how it used to be.

XXTALEN I know at one point pyro actually had a cool down. Plus fireball is almost as consistent. The only time you ever cast it is when you're 1v1 on a sheep or pom. Since he isn't shy about using pom for other spells and he's hardly ever 1v1, that point starts to look more valuable elsewhere.
