Phoenix, AZ had an extensive in town trolley system up to about 1947 or so. It sure would be interesting to see some old movie of that as well.

Super, super cool learning about this. Parents moved to Orinda in 1972 so all this was gone but I am familiar with Oakland, Moraga, Walnut Creek, Concord and to Suisun.

Awesome thanks. I love to follow along on Google Maps and trace the former route/ROW; more time than I care to admit finding easily identified repurposed rail-to-trails but then getting confused by redevelopment of former routes. Every time I drive over the Tower Bridge I try to envision 4 lanes of traffic plus SN trackage in the center-the math never works for me. What was produced and shipped from Oxford, Ca., that would warrant SN to build a spur way past Clarksburg? Cheers.
