Interesting mix of fiction and fact. At 0:20 the family name of the Duke of Leeds is indeed Osborne, the title becoming extinct with the 12th Duke of Leeds in 1964. I am surprised that Thackery should use a real peerage title and family name in his novel. Perhaps this was done deliberately, to add a bit of realism to Thackery's fascination for the tortuous complexities of class structure and social climbing in early 19th century England.

I have seen this movie several times and been blown away by the performences. Reece Witherspoon was brilliant in this role. She was so believable in this women In this time. I hope she was recognised by the industry as an accomplished actor I hope she can be seen as a serious actor with more dramatic roles.
