Oh to relive those tough times LOL. December 23, 1960 I never had to hitchhike. We rode bicycles and skateboards. Time was different in the late sixties, early seventies. Life was enjoyable and free. Biggest worry was what Television program Dad would tune in after supper. Miss these easy listening tunes.

heard this song in June of 1970. stationed at Marine Barracks , Boston Navy Ship Yard . was seeing a girl I had met while sightseeing on the common. when my section was off duty, would wear my uniform.carried my cvies in a small canvas bowling ball bag.would put the thumb out ,headed to Concord ,Always caught a lift, usually veterans, or people with relatives in the service. had to stop when I got orders for Vietnam........ got the "dear John " 2/3rds of the way thru my tour.

A friend in high school back in 73 and I hitchhiked at sixteen from Vancouver, WA to Los Angeles, CA. What crazy fools we were. It took us five days to get there, and we got caught for running away the very next day. Lol I got my first jet ✈️ ride back home.

Early 70s, didn't have a car. It was a 3 hour ride from my home to my college. Hitched rides maybe 10 times for holidays. Never had an ounce of trouble. Met some great people. Too bad that wouldn't be possible today.

I wasn’t a fan of Vanity Fair back then (1970-ish), but they played a local venue in Scotland, and since there was nothing much else on, I went along to see them. It was a dance rather than a concert. They were brilliant. Very tight, great harmonies, worked the audience well, and we all had a great time. Also not too loud. I liked them a lot more after that.
