I owe this guy alot. His game as a kid introduced me to skating and the music on that game introduced me to alternative music in turn influencing my lifestyle today completely. In turn influencing my children. Always a fan and still get chills when I hear him describe that x-games 900. A true class act, constant professional and face of a culture, sport and icon. 'I feel like The Simpsons is such a touchstone of pop culture and to be featured on it, in my own voice, is a big honour.' Dude, you're Tony Hawk, YOU'RE a touchstone of pop culture! He's such a nice, personable and humble guy who just seems still mildly stunned to be part of all the amazing things he's done and accomplished, but he deserves every shred of his success. I came of age in the early 2000s and 'Tony Hawk' is just one of those names or terms that's synonymous with the era and that stage of my life. What a legend.
@Rufusdos2 жыл бұрын
Birdman was already legend status even before the 900 and subsequent things. He has always been incredibly brave, doing the most technical, awkward stuff, backwards, 15 feet above your head.

@snuff4112 жыл бұрын
One of the true GOATs! such a good skater and seem like an even better person. His parts in Ban This and The End are some of the best vert skateboarding you'll ever see. It's so easy to have a guy whose an arrogant type on top of the sport but he definitely doesn't bring that type of vibe. Tony, Rodney, and Gonz are the holy trinity of skateboarding (in my opinion, BUT there are definitely more other innovators that are rad) and they all seem like super rad people, cementing skateboarding as the greatest sport of all time (again in my opinion)
