I hope to join vanlife soon too, I realised that living in a van is a perfect option for me after 5months trip during which I was doing work exchange (workaway, hovos this kind of things), and really missed having my own, personal private area, and well build interior of a car will give me that! Hey bro, quick word of advice - if you plan on living in it all year round and you're ever anywhere cold you'll want to make a change to that bed. If you have solid wood under the mattress then it'll trap moisture and form condensation, and then you'll have mold growing on the plywood (not great for your health!) I've done my bed with slats, closely space, just so there can be air movement. I've also seen people hole-saw holes into plywood like this to try to get the same effect. Good luck with it, living in a van is not the easy dream many seem to think it is, but it IS a great way to live on a tight budget if you can sacrifice in the right area's.

Great idea, I think I am going to do something similar but have the couch facing out the back doors. This way you can back up to the beach or mountain side and get a view of the outside, not toward the back of the van drivers seat.

Awesome build! Did you think about drilling some holes in the wooden panels? Brings better airflow and avoids moldiness (sweat and tears at night make the mattress and wood wet).
