The eggs florentine looked delicious. 😄 Amy says that if a menu offers spinach, eggplant, or salmon, she knows that’s what I’ll order. Thank you for the views of crossing the channel and the cliffs of Dover! “It’s so steep…but I want to go there” … I think you’ve summed up an important principle of life. You look joyful 😊

Oh yes, they were delicious and I go for the same thing but the salmon must always be fried for me... Such joy having you accompany me, eventually 😀 Is Amy with us, as well? Much love and greetings to you, your family and beautiful Florida ❤️

The irony of the Western Heights defences, built against French invasion in the 1850s/60s is that the “threat“ came from Emperor Napoleon III, an Anglophile, who had already enjoyed several periods of exile in London and who spent the end of his life in his final exile in Chislehurst in Southeast London. There is a saying in Dover - if you can see the cliffs of France it’s going to rain. If you can’t see the cliffs of France, it’s already raining!

Really liked your video Jennifer, you have a talent of how to put it over. Hope you get to see a lot of our wonderful heritage. Stay away from London, there is a lot of places which are so much nicer. Wishing you all the best on your adventure.

Yes, and I know my time here is way too short... I have always been intrigued by British history and favored classical British novels over the German ones... I am a huge fan of Jane Austen. I defintely will have to come back several times...

Thank you. I am sure it must sound annoying at times when I mess up something in the Englisch language. Still, I love the language and love speaking it, even though I may not be perfect.

Hallo Jennifer and Welcome to the UK. I spent 2 years in Germany in Celle as a British Soldier. I loved your beautiful country the people were so nice. I lived and worked in Dover in the Ferry Port. The Western Heights are full of history. Did you go to the Roman Painted house just behind the market square its amazing to see. Samphire Hoe were you where walking at the end is the silt (chalk) from the Channel Tunnel it actually extended the landscape of English coastline. Enjoy Hastings also full of history! 👍😊

Hi, and thank you for this lovely welcome. I meant to go to the Roman house but Was running out of time... maybe I will get a chance to do so on my way back in 2 weeks. However, this will not have been my last trip to England. I am planning to go back for about 1 month each year for it is stunning, welcoming people and so much history and beauty to see. I am glad to hear that your experiences in Germany were positive and you enjoyed your time. Welcome to my journey 😀 enjoy the bank holiday

@@jenniferk6632 That's fantastic glad your having a great time here. Have fun on your travels. If you're ever in Canterbury you can stay at the New Dover Road Park n Ride for £4 a day they also have toilets and fresh water to top up. A lot of your country men and women along with other nationals use this place a lot and you get the free bus to and from the city. There is a dedicated area for campers and motorhomes! Take care Michel 😊

So you're from Germany that car kettle looked good haven't seen them before does it run of basic car electrics,? Is this a holiday?welcome to the uk
@jenniferk663228 күн бұрын
Hi Mike, and welcome 😀 I chose one that needs a plug (which I have on my batterie but there are those working on the basic car electrics as well. Really practical for I do not necessarily get out of the car when needing hot water, since my car is too small to use my gas stove insight. It is not really a holiday. I have a lung condition that prevents me from staying at my home in central Germany for most of the year (check out my video why I am leaving my home...), so travelling and housesitting along and near the coasts is essential to me. Have a wonderful weekend.
