Mathew, over here in the northeast of USA, we call the pan Emilia sent you a Fry Pie maker. Ours are for outdoor fire pits, have longer handles, and our made of cast iron. Great for making anything from sandwiches (grilled ham and cheese) to desserts (canned apple or cherry pie filling) (Hershey bars, marshmallows and Graham crackers). My favorite is to steam cheddar brats in a nice IPA beer and after they cook in the fire for about 10 minutes, take them out to place in a bun. Delicious! Hint* spray with Pam or a vegetable spray to keep your bread from sticking. Enjoy!

My grandparents (many many years ago) took me camping. As a treat we would cook apple pies over the campfire. Directions - Use two pieces of white bread with the crust cut off. Squish the bread a bit into the divot. Fill with canned pie filling. Cook over the fire. I am assuming that she used some sort of cooking spray so that it wouldn't stick. Grilled cheese sounds good too. Thank you for the amazing content.

This is Tims wife Tammie Miller. I call that a Tonka pie maker and have been using them since I was 20 and am now 56, so let me tell you what I have made in that contraption...Always with 2 pieces of bread buttered on the outside and you can make any kind of pie with a can of say....Cherries or apples and when sufficiently toasted over the fire, sprinkle powdered sugar on them. OH SO GOOD! Also, Ham and cheese, or pizza pocket. Go CRAZY! You will love this gift! Mine has longer handles for actual campfires but you can use a camp stove of course.

Was watching this video… slowly but surely I’m going through all your videos as I’ve only barely found your channel. That sandwich press you got brought back some great memories. I lived on a small farm growing up in Massachusetts where the winters were brutal and we lost power a lot. My mom would cook on our fireplace with a sandwich press. Jaffle irons are great and yes you can use them in an open fire. All jaffles follow a very straightforward formula. You need to pre-heat your jaffle iron. Butter your bread well, with the butter on the outside, and fill in the middle with whatever you think will work. Try Cheeseburger jaffle: Throw in some fried beef mince, cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Use puff pastry instead of bread for a crispy and light jaffle, but fill it full so that it touches both sides of the jaffle iron and cook for longer. Another tip, fold a paper plate in four and open one part, and drop your jaffle in there as a holder. Let your jaffle cool for a good bit or you will end up with a burnt tongue. Enjoy!

I love Faulty Towers, my Dad was a big fan of that show and all things Monty Python. My favourite episode is the one with the rat. It was taken off air here in the UK, because it wasn't very PC. When it returned it was heavily edited, most of the old Majors lines were removed. Luckily I have it on DVD like you. Your 2 girls riding up front is just adorable, happy moggies.

Great video Perfect spot for the T.V. With the cooking item from Emilia and dad. We use them both over campfire and the stove. We make what are called Pie Irons. Can be made with anything you want. One of our kids favourites are Pies easy. Two slices of bread and any pie filling. Make like grilled cheese. Second is pizza. Again can use bread slices or the biscuits in tube from grocery store or just stop by any pizza shop and ask to buy one or two balls of plain dough. Normally charge us about $1 to 2 dollars per ball. So many things are fun to make in the pie irons. We have lots and use tons. Enjoy.

So evidently, the thing to do with the sandwich press is to make "pudgy-pies"; melted butter, bread slice, pizza sauce, toppings, and another piece of bread. Eureka! You've made a pizza pocket/pudgy-pie. I got the el-cheapo, tiny walmart version, especially to make grilled cheese sandwiches, and mine is definitely camp-fire equipment. Nice that your crew takes care of each other.

Van dwellers were surviving winters long before the chinese invented diesel heaters. If someone didn't have a propane heater a propane stove generates some btu's. A van's gasoline combustion unit would also generate enough heat (after idling for awhile) to prevent frostbitten toe beans. If cold snap is canadian slang for -40 then maybe a place with shore power becomes financially worth it to plug in an electric heater.
