Vanquest is definitely "buy-once-cry-once" type of gear. It's pricey, but it's SO well made. It's something that you'll have forever. I hike with a Trident 31 which is typically plenty for me doing 2 or 3 days or more if I really want to load it out, or rough it more by limiting my gear. I can't overstate how good Vanquest gear is. I have several pieces and have used them for about 2 years now.

Greetings Tim, its a sweet bag, i really like the orange liner it really helps see where specific items are located. I have several smaller pouches from Vanquest but i also have the 5:11 72 hour bag from there Moab Rush series. Enjoyed the vid, I'm never disappointed, thx for sharing.

Hi Tim . going back 25+ years I bought my first internal frame back pack it was from EMS 70 - 90 liters no molle but lots of tie offs although there was never any need with 70+liters I wish I still had it but I gifted it to a friend's son who was going on a long hike in the Young Marines. That pack saw a lot of miles in your part of the woods New Hampshire , Vermont , Maine , Massachusetts . 100 Mile Wilderness , Presidentials , Cannon and the Cannonballs Katahdin , I have hiked all the Green and White mountains over 4000 ft on the east coast and many many more , one mountain that is not very high but if you haven't hiked is a lot of fun is Mt Chocorua , friends and I used to go up every Thanksgiving weekend , it was kinda a party? I have hiked Chocorua well over 30 times and during every month of the year even in record snow and record cold . I have had some mobility issues in my old age b hip replacement , severe arthritis , so I'm not sure if it's still there but there was a cabin , Jim Liberty cabin could pack a dozen or so people in it but the road to the trail head was never maintained in the winter so calculate that in your plans if you plan that approach in the winter . well I have rambled to much as I do. Thanks

More rambling , back then I used to get a lot of my gear in Boston at a place called Hilton's Tent City on Friend street near the Boston garden back then we were more limited in the places we could get good gear plus it was a fun place to visit , if you decide to make a pilgrimage there I recommend stopping in the North End at one of the many word class Italian restaurants or my favorites Santarpios Pizza or Pizzeria Regina then head over to Mike's Pastry or Modern pastry then head over to Hilton's Tent City , I think you would enjoy and appreciate these places. I apologize for the rambling Thanks Again

Looks very versatile and high quality you can expect from vanquest. Being it is a quite heavy bag I would probably use for a lower mileage trip or a bushcraft type trip where it is lower mile trip and more about camp setup.

I use the Vanquest Envoy 3.0 to as my brief case and the Mobious 2.0 as my EDC bag. I love Vanquest gear! I wish I could combine my briefcase and EDC bag, but that's just not in the cards. Great gear! Thx for the review!

Have you tried the new 5.11 rush 100 at all, only thing i could think of bad with this pack once you use the beavers dam for a rifle you cant really attach anything else with the pack & tail. Unlike hooking a scabbard on side of a pack.

I’m surprised, and can’t believe I’m saying this, but that pack looks like and has about the same features as my old Jansport pack I bought in 2002. I think I paid around $150 for mine. Nice pack.

Not really a crazy question, I've been thinking of going that route too. But after trying various bags, I've come to the conclusion that basically 35-40 liters for civilian style packs and 27-32 liters for "tactical" packs are the sweet spot for airlines. This is mostly because of the milspec packs' unwieldy designs. However, some military style packs like the Komodo Dragon from Mystery Ranch can still stretch these limits a bit because of their simple overall shape.

Nice pack I like Vanquest I have a couple of their organizers use them all the time. A few years back I seen a knife review you did but you had a custom kydex knife sheath made for it from Tie tactical. I was wondering if you had a contact number for them I have emailed them a few times with no response, I have a Benchmade I would like a better sheath for Thanks always enjoy your videos

I don't have much contact with TT these days honestly. But I can HIGHLY recommend Micah at Black Bear Custon Kydex - amazing work.

Love vanquest, love packs like this that you can customize. But I’d never use a 6 lb pack for backpacking when you can get something from granite gear that can carry more, is cheaper, and weighs at least half the weight. Just seems like something that starts off like a cool idea and then ends up miserable. Perhaps it would be good for hunting like you said, no idea there.

I love this pack for the organization, but the downfall is the poorly executed rifle carry. Eberlestock beat them out for that reason. Less organization in the Eberlstocks, but far superior rifle carry (quick access, rifle protection, and doesn't block access to the pack).
