Born in 95, wanted these ever since I was like 5. I’m 9 days away from being 28 and just got a pair today. most perfect looking shoe ever.

Ten years ago I was working at a surf/skate shop. Different importers would have product nights to tell us about and show their upcoming ranges. Accent Group, the importer for Vans, put on one to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Half Cab. Some of the employees were doing a little presentation on Steve, but they were getting so much information wrong. After a bit, I ended up speaking out about it, and their boss happened to be sitting next to me (I didn't know at the time). He was laughing away as I corrected them on the own presentation, but was super happy that someone selling their product actually knew about it. We spoke a little afterwards, and he gave me some new products to rep at work, and would send me shoes sporadically if I met sales goals (I still, to this day don't know what they were at they weren't set by our store). I even got invited to breakfast with Steve Cab, and Steve Van Doren, with the rest of the Accent crew, despite not working for Accent, when they visited for Bowl-A-Rama in 2013. I actually can't believe that was ten years ago. Was a wild time.

Half cabs are by far the best skate shoes I have ever worn,in my entire life … I always go back to them for comfort when I’m working on my feet … no matter what I’m doing… I’m wearing a half Cabs.

Everyone should get Cab's shoes, board and hoodie right now. I'd say go watch a best of clip but it would take 3 months to see it all. Maybe best of 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010 or 2020 just to get started. He turned pro 42 years ago for PP and still has a stack of signature boards available from them, never jumped ship even through the tough times. And I don't think we've seen his last first place run - still winning after all these years. Art, music, motorcycles, skateboarding, he's unstoppable.

I love Half Cabs, my one complaint is they take forever to break in, but I'm used to the original Sk8 Hi shoes. I'm not used to the thick padding. Once they're broken in they're amazing.

I just ordered my All Nation Skate Jam Half Cabs, I hope they come out with more cool colorways like that, the electric blue and black looked so sick and they only had my size online so I had to snag em. I have the new Navy ones too and the feel amazing, much better than the old pro Half Cabs. Steve is an absolute legend and I’m glad Vans is finally giving him the recognition he hasn’t always gotten from Vans. I wish they promoted his shoe more, even he said “you never see Half Cab ads anymore” even tho it’s Vans’ biggest shoe

I got the white and red leather 92 pair and they feel like the best quality vans I’ve had in a long time. I’ve never liked how vans could feel cheap like the rubber was soft and wore out quickly these feel more durable

These are dope. I think I need a pair. Only mid-tops I ever liked were a hand me down from a childhood friend Malto ( I know namedrop = cringe ) back when he skated for Etnies. We wear the same size and he threw me a pair one day cuz my shoes were shredded and I loved em.. a little while afterwards I tried a pair of vans half cabs but they didn't feel right. I don't think they were meant for skating, really stiff and I think were made just for the looks/nostalgia aspect... but seeing these with pop cush and dura cap I'm gonna have to buy a pair. Recently I purchased a pair of Jeff Grosso limited edition red/white checkered SK8 HIGHS at a brick and mortar store. They were a bit uncomfortable; even after breaking them in. Still they are rideable and a great skateboard shoe. Then to remedy the situation; I purchased the new SK8 HIGH COMFY CUSH from the VANS website (I recommend all skateboard related purchases via MANUFACTURERS website, you will be spared a big headache as long as you know exactly what is wanted) much to my delight. The COMFY CUSH series remedies all of the Vans complaints of the past. It is the MOST comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned in my life (62 going on 23). Any experienced skateboarder will instantly notice the improvement in arch/heel support AND the NEW sole designed is stellar. I remember the Steve Caballero skateboard deck and it was the cats ass. Everybody wanted one it was the shape of things to come back then. I remember the Vans history vividly they were really about the skate punk fashion show, then they did take it seriously. The WORST of the vintage rubber clunkers was the VISION high tops from the late eighties.
