Vans Infuse 2022 Snowboard Boot Review

Thank you for the review! My previous boots only had laces, and I got this pair from the shop because I needed a replacement. Man these boots are not cheap, but they feel incredible. I also enjoy skateboarding with vans and surfing, but I didn’t know they were inspired by these 🤙🏾😂

Tip for all complaining not getting it tight on the shins: leave one side of the tongue "outside" of the liner. Practically like a wrap liner. I leave the inner side of the tongue above the rest of the liner. That helps a lot with getting them tight. Besides that: I have very wide feet, high arches, a high instep, 265 mondo. I sitzed up a half size and they are perfect for me. Best feature: you can position the BOA. For me that means I can tie them down where my ankle actually folds. In other boots I just get pressure on top of my foot.

4.3 inch or 11cm at the widest point. But I think that's the limit with this boot. Feeling the edge of the sole a little.

Surprised to hear that these boots have plenty of board feel despite the thick soles. Compared to the Burton Ion, at least the front is higher on the Infuse but didn’t pay attention to the width or overall circumference. Thanks for the review!!

No problem. Yeah they look pretty thick but there is soo much board feel in the sole near the front of the foot. Feels like there is nothing there but the rubber sole. The sole near the heel thickens up a bit and feels like more than the Ion and other similar soles like that in Burton's line. It's a very unique bottom.

@@thegoodridesnow bought both yesterday to try at home. Hope it will be an easy decision 😅 the Infuse in US 9.5 and 10 and the Ion in 10. Feet are 27.3cm and standard/wide so let’s see. Tried Ion once in 9.5 and it was small.

I've been riding Burton Ion for years, love them. But I'm just curious and I would like to try different high end brands/models. Vans fuse may be the ones, what's your take? I live in Niseko, Japan, where I guide/teach most days of the winter, so I need stiff boots that last looooong ;)

We found the ion doesnt keep its flex as long as other boots. The infuse is an amazing boot too, it should last a little longer than the ion. Boots like the burton slx, addidas tactical adv, thirtytwo tm3-xd, Thirtytwo Jones tm2 2023 and most high end ride or k2 boots do a really good job at keeping their flex.

The downside to these boots is the strap runs out of useable velcro as the liners pack out. I think I'm going to cut a section out of my strap and sew it back together to make it shorter.

Hey do you know what size your foot is using monopoint. I’m looking to purchase a per of vans invado pros and I’m not 100% sure on the size I should go with. My feet are 263mm long and I’m thinking size 8.5. Do you think I should size up to a 9US?

Im a size 9us. 27 mondopoint comfort. Your 263mm is a 26.3 mondo and a size 8.5 us boot is a 26.5 mondo. So yes. 8.5 is the right call if you have normal foot width. You can always add boot fitting foam if it packs out or feels large.

Yeah I wish brands sold more replacement liners. Did you hit up Vans? Intuition Liners sells custom liners. The sizing is different (has to size way down 1 fulk size but might be worth a shot

great review! i really hope you can help me out here, i recently got myself the infuse longo version and almost immediately they started flexing at the start of the laces near the toes. is it normal cause it feels not good and a metal lace loop broke on the first day. do they have a lot of reliability issues or did just get really unlucky, i heard many more say their infuse broke really early if its the boa or the lace loops or even the power start ripping off, but most interesting thing is the flex problem i described. is it normal?

No that isn't normal and I didn't notice any of that. That being said I only had about 9-10 days on them. You are having a lot of problems. If that happened to me I would contact Vans, get a new boot, sell it, and buy from another brand.

No. I would look to boots specifically marked wide like Burton Photon Wide, Ion Wide, Salomon Echo Wide, Dialog Wide, Thirty Two TM-2 Wide, K2 Maysis Wide, Ride Lasso Pro Wide and others. It will be sooooooooo much better for you. Cheers!

Question: where do you put that pesky plastic stopper on the draw string (and the leather pull strap). I creates a hot spot in the boot unless I leave it loose and stuff it to the side. God forbid if it gets under the boa constricted heel hold. Love this boot otherwise.

I just slid it in so it matched the contour of the tongue and it worked fine without pressure. Sorry it isn't working for you.

I have almost the exact foot measurements as you, do you recommend heat molding these before riding?

That is very subjective. You might be a size 9 E but you might have a different arch or instep. You might have thicker or thinner ankles or lots of other variations in foot shape. So if they are comfortable go ride them and wait on heat molding them to see if any pressure points pop up while riding. If you wear them around the house and get pressure points or discomfort in places I would heat mold them.

There is not a lot of foam in the liner, most of the forefoot area of the Infuse liner is neoprene which does not heat mold but is very stretchy. That is also why people with wider feet can comfortably ride the Infuse.

what are some good boots for shock absorption? I mainly hit kickers and butters.

You can go here and filter by shock absorption. thegoodride.com/snowboard-boot-reviews/?mens=1 Adidas had the most shock absorption but they bailed. You should also consider adding the Footprint Insole Technology Kingfoam Orthotic Elite. It really makes any boot a shit ton more shock absorbent.

Hi, I was considering these boots (2024) or the verse double boa. I need to replace my adidas response adv which are size 9 and they fit perfect. I'm confused about sizing, Everyone is saying they are true to size and unfortunately I cannot try those in a shop. I measured my feet (mondo size) and I supposed to be a 9 too but I remember you had a 8.5 in adidas boots so I'm worried they'll fit small. Do you think I might try to get a 9.5 instead? (I have wide feet too) Thanks for your help

If you are a true 9 US and an E width or under, get the 9 in the Infuse or the Verse. Check 1:47 where I say the 9 fits true. Vans is not Adidas and each brand has their own unique fit. Older Adidas 8.5's fit like a size 9 Vans.

I’m a true 10.5 US, and I got perfect fit with a size 10.
