I bought one about 6 months ago. I like the concept of using steam for cleaning carpets but I'm not real impressed with how this removes carpet stains. I go over a pet stain or food stain even when they're fresh and it's not get ridding of it. I can go over the area very slow several times and the stains will fade somewhat but that's it. There's other things that may come up down the road that i want a steam cleaner for, but I'd get something else if just wanting a decent carpet cleaner.

A carpet steamer that accepts detergent is definitely the way to go with deep-seated carpet stains. Dry vapor steamers are for other cleaning tasks that don't require detergent.

How do you prevent the water that comes out at the begining and leaving everything wet?

A towel is used over the end to catch most of the initial moisture. Once you run the steamer for a few seconds the line is clear and very little moisture comes out.

They're very similar and you can't go wrong with either one, but I lean towards the Primo for its accessory storage in-unit and US-based support.

@Rolls Royce Very cool, boy am i glad to hear that Rolls Royce. I am currently waiting for that same model. I bought one on e-bay its supposed to be an open box deal but brand new. I got a good deal on it paid $140.00 for it.. I was pretty sure it was a good machine, but hearing it from you really sealed the deal for me. @Rolls Royce Use distilled water only, I got it. I read that using distilled water keeps mineral that are in tap water from ruining the steamer? Thanks again

This would be a good option for leather, since it uses a fairly dry vapor that doesn't leave behind excess moisture. Be sure to wipe down the surface immediately after steaming so that the leather doesn't absorb too much water.
