This reminds me of the time I played Hard Time 2D. On day 10 or so, I tried to throw an iPad through a wall so that I could horde it to myself, however the iPad blew up, and I was promptly arrested for terrorism. In spite the ridiculousness of this charge, I was found guilty and sentenced to 7 days. Apparently it wasn't 7 days more on top of my 100+ day sentence, but just '7 days'. Since I had already been in prison for 10 days, that apparently meant I was free to go. Not knowing what to do when I realized that I was free to go, I immediately stole a basketball to try and get back to being an inmate, but the judge just ordered me to pay $10 for a new basketball. Then -obviously impressed with my basketball stealing- one of the wardens offered me a job as a security guard. So I took it.

Ugh. Okay. I really like Joel. I'm a big fan of him and his content. And normally I'm not one of those moral crusader type people at all. But I think he went too far in this video. I know that video games aren't real life. And I know that they don't directly affect the way people think. But there is a difference between doing silly, outrageous things like blowing up people in Just Cause 3 or something like that, and doing things that actually happen in real life and lead to a lot of actual human suffering. I think there is fine line that can be crossed, where something turns from being evil in a silly and fun way to being evil in a serious, harmful way. I am not trying to be all like "Who will think of the children?" or something, but I just think that what Joel did in this video might give impressionable people the idea that something like this is okay, and might help continue a cycle of harm that has been going on for far too long.
