Theory: I think it would set up Armor Wars. In a clip of Secret Invasion Fury asked Rhodes how sure the latter is about his security detail.... so MAYBE that plot point from the comics wherein Stark tech is blamed for the secret invasion would be loosely based upon - Fury and Rhoades would encounter Skrulls and realize that Stark tech may already be in the wrong hands

The big kicker for bringing this story into the MCU is that they already introduced the Skrulls as misunderstood good guys in the first Captain Marvel. Like Civil War, some of the key aspects of the story are lost. Civil War was a horrible movie, because Steve Rogers had no argument for his actions like in the comics where it was about the safety of his family. How are they going to do this and make it good?

Well Dark Avengers by any other name is the Thunderbolts, so MCU Secret Invasion probably sets up that. I'm just curious how many heroes are going to appear in the Secret Invasion Disney+ series. Feels like a missed opportunity if the Skrulls don't get to copy some big name powers. Reed Richards played a big part in the comic run, is it too soon to have him make an appearance in the MCU for Secret Invasion? Probably, Mr. Fantastic is one of the biggest names in Marvel, his first appearance would have to be in a movie. Unless they pulled a fast one and MCU 616 Reed is actually going to John Krasinski again, making it his second appearance.
