It also sets a clear distinction between the tree batmans (normal, zurrehah and failsafe). Normal cares and loves, zurrehah doesnt care and just wants to BE batman, failsafe doesnt care and wants to KILL batman.

My favorite part of this Failsafe arc was the origin of Failsafe itself! Superman calling out Bruce on the BS answer to the question: "You have a plan in place for EVERY Justice League member if we went rogue. However, what's the plan if YOU ever used your abilities for the wrong side?" Bruce answers "The Justice League" which makes NO sense because if Batman's plan for himself is the same Justice League that he knows how to defeat then what sense does that make?! Okay, so Failsafe is so crazy smart that it can No-diff Superman TWICE in the same arc, but yet is so astronomically STUPID to think that the media NEVER lies. Like ffs, that's similar to the ENTIRE schticks of some villains! All FS would need to do is: 1. INCAPACITATE, not kill Batman 2. Go to Penguin's dead body, see that he was dying, and see that he was poisoned 3. Recognize the fact that Batman would have ZERO reason to kill someone who was basically ALREADY 4. thats a typical batman issue overall: he stops crime on the moment, but he does little to stop it long term, mainly because of his "no kill" policy leading to criminals and villains just getting out of jail over and over because he is unwilling to take a step further.

The villains coming back over and over is squarely on the shoulders of the courts and penal system. He does not even allow himself the privilege of lethal force that police officers are allowed, with all its restrictions under law, because Batman acts outside the law. Batman knows nobody else is going to stop him, so he stops himself. The no killing rule is the reason Batman is a hero instead of a serial killer.

The only way to create a second personality within a single, standard human brain is by developing a severe case of dissociative identity disorder. This is not the strength comic books make it look like, and the full changes it causes to brain function are still... far from understood to put it lightly. We do know that it's not something to desire, though. At the fullest extent of the disorder the brain is, in function, creating new and individual instances of human consciousness all within one brain. The more aware the person with the disorder is of the other personalities the more connected the parts of the brain they primarily operate from become, though thus far they have never done anything resembling directly interacting. Their memories, thoughts, and opinions are exclusive and unreadable by each other. It is a traumatized brain escaping it's trauma by creating a new person within itself that lacks the trauma of the original personality. So technically, yes, you could try to create a mental fail-safe in the form of a second personality completely separate from your own original consciousness, just be aware that you cannot control or influence who it will become or even know if it became a fail-safe like you wanted it to be, it might just be an aspiring accountant or something. It would also require you to intentionally seek out very specific forms of mental trauma until your brain starts splintering it's consciousness into new people. It may also never stop creating new personalities. You also cannot ever get rid of them. And you can't control when they take control of your body and ability to create memories. It is not very desirable.

I didn't think it was possible for someone to make me dislike the whole 'batman has a plan to turn on his friends' thing more... But they bloody did it. So you're telling me that batman not only is able to come up with a flawless plan to get rid of anybody who ever turns evil, and predict all their actions, but can even program a robot to do it for him... But didn't consider the possibility that Alfred might not be available to push the false alarm button every single time? Cause like, yeah, this scenario happened because Alfred was dead, but this would have also happened if Alfred had like... Tripped on his way to the button. Or gotten a bad enough cold. Literally anything that gets between him and a button in the batcave on one of the MANY occasions that batman either gets framed or accused of going too far (which happens literally all the time) results in a fusion of batman, cyborg and skynet being released with no contingency whatsoever?

Possibly the most cringe story I've seen out of DC in a while, and they've been quite good at delivering those lately. Somehow once again showcasing that Batman is the most powerful idiot in the DC continuity. This thing is so advanced that it can predict and overcome all other superheroes and their tactics, but it can't see through a thinly veiled plot to ruin Batmans reputation? Literally, a robot devised by the WORLDS GREATEST DETECTIVE.
