Hello. Would you advise on using the Variants to track for example packaging types ... ? Say you have an item that has always come in a box of 50 ... And suddenly the manufacturer decides to pack them by 40 in a box instead of 50 without changing anything about the item number. Can / Should Variants be used to accomodate this or do you have any other suggestions ? (Keep track how many boxes of 50 you have and where they are vs the new boxes of 40, ... ) Or do you have another suggestions ?

Hello, as long as the base unit of measure is PCS or EA, then this is simply an alternate unit of measure issue. Define alternate purchasing units of measure as case packs of 40 or case packs of 50. You can easily see how many of each case pack multiple you have.

Very well explained, I still failed to understand what is the actual benefit to have one single item with 6 different variants, instead of 6 different items. Seems like potato potato to me. Well ok in your example of chairs, you only have one version of routing instead of 6, but so far that is the only benefit I can highlight. BTW been watching hours of your videos and they have help me understand this program so well I could never thank you enough! 🙏

You make a very good point regarding variants…it does help in retail (as shows with colours, sizes, etc) and a bit on rev levels in semi-conductor/electrical industries. But you're right that adding a new item works too, but some organizations
