Wasn't really feeling doing hardcore revision (like past papers or notes) today so thanks for posting this video. The genetic drift and the instability of allele frequency in small populations section really helped me :)

You can use the store number button on your calculator. This allows you to store up to 9 exact answers. Assuming you're using a Casio calculator.

When you have your answer you want to store the number. So press shift and then the RCL button which selects the store option, then you want to press one of the buttons that has a red letter above it, either A, B, C, D, E, F, X, Y or M. Now the answer is stored to the respective letter, so when you want to get that answer again you press RCL and then the letter you stored it to. Hope this helped :)

When looking at 26:10 is the smudge at the bottom a common ancestor of all of the species? Because surely the 2 species in the polyphyletic group have the triangle or the smudge as a common ancestor? Or when deciding what a common ancestor is, do you just look at the closest point where 2 different lines meet? Any help appreciated

They are both common ancestors but we care about the most recent common ancestor which is the triangle. The smudge is a common ancestor but is more distant so not really of any use.

Giraffes are also stabilising selection as if their necks are too long, they won't be able to be supported by neck muscles and are also un stable
