hi. i dont understand why some bacteria die on the ampicillin agar as clearly both recombinant and non-recombinant genes have the amp resistance gene? (time= 10:37)

Just before 12:00 you said that the ones with the insulin gene die, and then you said that they're the ones that you take and replicate... how does that work if they're dead??

+Nayzar Wafaei The colonies that have died are on a replica plate. Basically you take your original cultures, take a small sample and put on a new plate to do the test. It is the cells on this new plate that die and as you know which culture they were originally from you can go to your original plate and take those cultures :)
