This needs an Endovenous Duplex Ultrasound Vein Mapping Scan to identify incompetent veins. Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy (EVLT) together with Transluminal Occlusion of Perforators (TRLOP) followed after an eight week gap with Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy. People should not be expected to spend the rest of their lives in compression when the underlying cause can be treated.

You haven’t received the correct treatment. There are many vein doctors who think they can deliver appropriate treatment for venous insufficiency when they’re really totally inept 😡

I had fantastic treatments from a specialist vein clinic in London in 2018 and have never looked back. Good riddance to this horrendous compression. Compression is only treating the symptom which will come back time after time. The underlying cause needs to be treated appropriately by the right vein specialists.

Your third layer should have been figure of 8 pattern throughout.

Agreed. It should be spiral or figure of 8 for all layers. This ulcer is small so only smart gauze is enough. If ulcer is large and exuding it needs gamjee pad over smart gauze.
