I've been listening to both of the HTTYD scores consistently for months now. Those amazing themes never get old.

Like so many people have said, John Powell didn't have to go so hard with his HTTYD scores, but I'm so glad he did!!!

If you're looking to go way way deeper with John Powell and director Dean DeBlois, we did a recent retrospective discussion of the entire trilogy that is as detailed as you can get! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmGleIWnrLV6fq8

You are under the influence of the franchise ending and you suddenly have a need to find everything there is about its story, music, ideas, etc that you didn't know about before....just so you can postpone the idea that the franchise is probably never going to have a comeback for a little longer...oh wait....that's me. ;^;

The way they introduced this sits wrong with me. Why mention animation in such a way that it implies an inferiority to live-action? It's cinema, just like any other film medium, plain and simple.
@jungleblazers12495 ай бұрын
Compare that to the way John Powell describes animation. John has so much respect and admiration for animation, and he showed it with 3 amazing scores for the HTTYD trilogy. Not a hint of "bullshitting" his way through.

@jungleblazers1249 No excuse to not give it your all, it's a movie made by many talented people

Guillermo del Toro shares that same sentiment and mindset and so do I as well. Animation is not a genre, it’s a storytelling medium like live-action movies, novels, comic books, and video games. It has potential to be cinematic, and both animation and voice acting NEED to be taken more seriously.
