Variety Entertainment Program 2022 (Part 1)

The Junior School Annual Variety Entertainment Program of Barnes School and Junior College, Devlali was held on Friday, 25th November 2022.
The Chief Guest for the evening, Maj. Gen, Sharad Kumar Srivastava and his wife Mrs Chitralekha Srivastava were warmly welcomed and introduced to the august gathering by Mr. Ainsley Edgar, Principal, Barnes School and Junior Colleges.
A man of many accomplishments, Major General S. K. Srivastava is an alumni of National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy and is presently serving as the Chief Instructor in the Faculty of Gunnery at the School of Artillery, Devlali.
The honourable Chief Guest and his wife were thereafter felicitated by Miss Uttara Kulkarni, Vice Principal, Barnes School and Junior College and Mrs Leona Kingsellers the Supervisor of the Junior School respectively.
The evening commenced with a prayer in the form of a hymn 'Like a Sunflower' by the Junior School Choir. Their melodious performance was followed by an energy packed dance by the students of Grade 1. The students had the undivided attention of the audience with their kicks, flicks and groovy moves.
The dramatization of the life cycle of the Wide Mouth Frog by the tiny tots of LKG stole the hearts of the spectators with their vibrant costumes and expressive performance.
Bringing to life the legendary puppet show, the students of Grade 4, showcased a range of feelings and emotions with their Puppet Dance. Stringing along were the students of Nursery with their colourful and innocent dance titled New Birds of Paradise.
The students of UKG brought to life the diversity of the folk dances of India through their act, Dances of Incredible India. Making their debut performance a grand success was the Barnes School Band with their foot tapping music and lively performance.
India being a country known not just for its diversity in culture but also its seasonal changes, the students of Grade 2 dramatized these changes with their act titled Seasons. Their performance was followed by the students of Grade 3 as they conjured the three elements, earth, wind and fire with drum beats, claps and stomping feet to bring to life the African tribal dance representing a divine communication with the creator. The performance left the audience mesmerized and awestruck.
A scintillating performance by the students of Grade 4 in Aladdin, an adventure packed musical, revolving around an ordinary looking lamp brought the curtains down on an unforgettable show.
The efforts of the members of all departments of Barnes School and Junior College contributed to making this event a grand success.
