I thought Blonde was terrible but even I believe that Ana De Armas gave a wonderful performance. That’s the sign of a good actor, not all their movies are going to be good, but they are never going to be the reason why they’re bad.

Can we appreciate how well spoken and articulate and it's only 6 years she started learning English! Kudos for actors who learn and educate themselves, learning languages are always challenging. Giving lead performances in a language which is not your native one is a HUGE FCKN THING! Ana killed it in Blonde. Movie was not so good but she worked so well as Marilyn!!!

Loved The Good Nurse and thought Blonde was actually quite good (no, it's NOT a biopic about Marilyn Monroe, it's more about the darker sides of fame, exploitation, sexism, image, etc - Marilyn is more "icon" and "symbol" of that than day to day person, for better and for worse). They were both difficult movies to watch but they explored necessary and painful themes. And I find the discourse around Blonde even more fascinating, should a movie like that just be denied and buried? What does it mean if we do that? What does it mean if we don't? In short, I love challenging movies, the ones that really grab you by the throat and make you think, even think about uncomfortable things. I think that's part of the job of great art.

Blonde will be reevaluated by future generations who will not watch it through the politically muddied, identity-colored glasses of 2022, and they will appreciate it for the work of cinematic art full of psychological complexity that it is, empathizing with the tragedy and trauma instead of using it as a beacon for their virtual signals. I think what's amazing is that Ana had came a long way, from not even speaking a word of English when she first started out and now she expresses herself so eloquently.

It's VERY NORMAL to learn English and speak it perfectly in a couple of months. Nothing special.

@@abortion_worst_CRIME_inHISTORY well there’s people living in the US for 25 years that cannot speak English lol So it takes talent but Ana had a COACH and all the support still couldn’t do Marilyn Monroe accent. I learned English by myself without help in less than a year that’s TALENT Lmao

God, am I tired of people shitting on Blonde. I’m astonished at how dim and dismissive contemporary audiences have become. Nice to hear Ana de Armas and Eddie Redmayne speak so articulately and incisively about Blonde. There hasn’t been much of that in the public discourse.

Perhaps Marilyn’s spirit was interacting with this movie. And that is why for ten years, the film couldn't get off the ground and was canceled directly before shooting began. Marilyn was fighting against the creation of it.

It was the most disgusting movie ever and I am not even a particular fan of Marylin herself, I just admire and respect the whole musical acting era of Hollywood. What happened to this movie that instead of honoring an artist, it destroyed her legacy?

Eddie has been a great screen wonder ever since 10 years ago and with each role I was fascinated: Savage Grace, The Danish Girl, My week with Marilyn - what a fantastic one!!! Nothing like disgusting Blonde!
