Various Rinseless Wash Methods. Which is the one for you?

In this video I am going over a few different methods on how to safely use a rinseless wash without inducing scratches onto the paint. From multiple towels, a wash mitt and one of the various available sponges. Pick the one that works.

UBS took me some getting used to but now it’s my favorite way to go! Still bust out the mitts and towels just for fun/variety but you’re right the sponge is most efficient.

Been sitting on a bottle of Mckees GRW for months. Finally used and did a RW last week and loved it. Slickness is on par with the sio2 stuff. What I noticed with it over the sio2 variant. It acts similar to ONR and pulls the dirt to the bottom of the bucket. With the sio2 RW, it did not do it as well.. leaving a oily ring around the id of the bucket. It seems to clean better too. Lastly less dirt.. almost none on my drying towel. Ive only uses the 1/2 to 22 oz dilution as a drying aid. Tomorrow i want to try some of my AutoFanatic ceramic ww As a drying aid/topper. Stuff is potent with 15% sio2, thinking it will dilute down with RW on the car. A tip ive probably mentioned before. I take a Kirkland towel and run it over the super dirty areas (door sills, behind rear tires, rear bumper of car) then toss after. The remaining dirt left on the car is minimal and bucket stays cleaner.

Still a die hard ONR and Ultra Black Sponge user here. The way the ONR drops dirt to the bottom of the bucket is not matched by any other rinseless wash, and it enables the safe use of the UBS and single bucket. I've never had any problems with scratching or marring, and I've seriously pushed the boundaries of what a rinseless wash should ever do. Surfactants contain polymers, and small amounts of surfactants/polymers are still left behind with D114 or N914. ONR is pure polymer, and yes, small amounts are still left behind but do not cause any issues. You're going to love the Marolex sprayers. Excellent pressure (and air capacity), and great spray pattern. The handle design could be improved (hard on the wrist if you have the big 3L version), and I wish they had a Schrader valve, but still a great option.

The whole "nothing left behind" claim makes little sense as something will be left behind from every rinse less unless your using water to rinse off the excess product. Regardless the only time I can see it being as issue is for coating, in which case you'd be polishing and using a panel prep anyways...

Dropping dirt to the bottom of the bucket doesn't mean much when you use multiple towels. There is no dirt in the bucket to begin with, which is way safer than having dirt "drop".

General tip / thought: if one is worried about towel dirt, pre treat heavy dirt with an APC (like power clean 5:1) and rinse it off with a hose or pump sprayer full of rinseless then just wash it. “But my protection!” Yeah well we all use drying aids anyways so you’re reapplying whatever wax/sealant anyway. And if not, just spray seal the car when it’s dry-adds like 5 mins max.

N-914 and Feynlab Pure Rinseless are my go-to's with the multiple towel method. However I recently bought the Esoteric Elite Car Wash Sponge with the intention of using it with a rinseless wash. I know that N-914 will work with a sponge but I'm not sure how well Pure Rinseless will due to it's much thicker consistency.

Two great options. Pure Rinseless works good with the ultra black sponge. Sometimes it can get a little sudsy. But it works.

Hi Mike, what about using something like TRC’s Cyclone Ultra 10X Wash Pad instead of the foam sponges? Better/worse?

Sure you can use a wash pad, wash mitt, multiple towels or a sponge with a rinseless wash. Choose the method of your preference. There is no wrong option to choose from .

I've just bought some Carpro ECH20. As bought primarily from going over the car quickly before fitting a car cover and I want to make sure there's not grit or soiling before fitting a decentcar cover as I've not got a garage and want to protectfrom UV, fallout, bird poop and the like. Also I'll use it to go over the front of the car once I've used Gtechniq W8 bug remover, as I don't think its a good idea just to leave the remainder of the deposits on the paint surface and ECH20 would just remove the residue.
