I am considering purchasing this hood. Any issues with water/moisture getting into the engine compartment and doing any harm? I have heard about issues some ctr owners have had with moisture under the hood and rusting plugs and wires. Thanks for your feedback.

@@GoombahGamer Zero issues with this hood with moisture. It comes with a rain guard that works really well. The people with plug rusting issues had internal engine problem that was diluting the oil. Some 1.5 liter engines have this issue as well but that doesn't have anything to do with the hood so you should be good 😁

That hood is the absolute best-looking one I've seen available for the FK8. Holllly moly. Just wondering.....can you still drive it in the rain? Is it OK that water gets through in those screened areas ?

The hood comes with a rain guard so washing and rain are a none issue. Very easy to remove for the addition cooling just a couple Phillips screws

There is one video that sets the tone and brings the Type R to life. Thats the Remus exhaust video that you made. There are plenty of other options out there but that video of the Remus Exhaust and the sound is what the Type R should of came with from factory.

Michael I got the exact same hood. Two questions: 1. did you get yours clear coated? 2. My hood is slightly warped. The driver side sits slightly higher than the passenger side. Would hood pins fix this issue?

@@Justintm that’s not an exact copy of the Varis hood iirc. The ventilation on the underside isn’t the same as mine which is an exact copy of the Varis hood. Got mine from fk8partsusa. Never had clear coat or warping issues with mine and fitment was perfect

Hey Michael, I was wondering what the maintenance for your carbon hood has been like. I just ordered a Seibon OEM carbon hood and was wondering if you clear coated it or have a monthly cleaning regiment to make sure it doesn't yellow. It’s wrapped in vinyl now but when I first got it I ceramic coated it. Then just regular washes
