I like the weight savings, but I'm not a big fan of the carbon fiber look. This is perfect for me

Wish this dude was near me, I want something similar. Those who think its a sin to paint it, what about exotics? They paint most of their carbon. I like it painted to match the cars paint and still show a little carbon on the vents. Very well done!

Good to see this technique. I have a carbon fiber hood in manufacture and I'm planning on taking that road less traveled and having it painted, my goal being to return it to its original appearance. To the people who want to know why Aussies paint their carbon, its cause its illegal to have carbon on a registered car in Australia. Yes i know its drum. But you technically can't even change your rims without it being inspected and cleared by an engineer in Australia.

you require an inspection if you change the size of the wheels more than 7% of the largest option offered for that model, so say you put 18's on your GD RS impreza that came with 16s this would be fine as the G3 sti came out with an 18 inch wheel

I want a carbon fiber hood on my truck and want to leave the carbon fiber look. Is carbon fiber glossy, satin, or flat? I'm wanting a flat finish. Also, if I leave it natural, do I need a clear coat finish on it?
@ryukoysusei4 жыл бұрын
Carbon fiber parts are sealed inside clear resin so they are naturally glossy. You can't have a "natural carbon fiber, as carbon fiber parts are made up of multiple sheets of carbon fiber weave layered on top of each other with resin sealing them to each other.
