RGV is missing a logic here, abbayyi cheppinattu kanali ante adi rape avuthundi anedi correct kaadu endukante rape means just forced sex… whether it leads to pregnancy or not is a secondary issue. Forced sex(rape) lo pregnant aithe ammayyi ki full right untundi whether to give birth or abort But Unforced sex(consensual sex) lo if pregnant aithe then if at least one of the mother/father says that be baby be born then baby must be born. It is a fundamental right of the parent asking for it & fundamental duty of the other parent to not stop it. This is not rape. RGV in some topics in a hurry making statements before thinking all scenarios.

It's you who missed the point of discussion, my friend. You are talking about what happens AFTER consensual sex. RGV basically was saying that wife can't be mentally forced to EVEN HAVE SEX for the purpose of having children. And you are wrong even according to your own logic. All women, married or unmarried, entitled to safe and legal abortion till 24 weeks of pregnancy, ruled SC. The Supreme Court ruled that all women are entitled to safe and legal abortion and that the distinction between married and unmarried women in this matter is unconstitutional. And the honourable Supreme Court is currently considering criminalising marital rape as well. Individual liberty is to be given highest priority, except in a few exceptions. If one wants children and the wife doesn't, one can't force the wife to have sex. He should simply divorce her and get married to someone who wants to have children as well. One always has the option of divorcing if such a big difference of interests arises between the couple. In India, divorce is treated like a taboo, and those who get a divorce are ill treated in society, so people are conditioned to think they have a right to demand children from their wife. That was the point RGV was trying to make in the end. It can be grounds for husband to get a divorce if wife aborts a child without consent of the husband. You can only get a divorce but you have no FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT to force your wife to have sex for the purpose of children or force your wife to give birth in an unwanted pregnancy according to her. If one pushes his wife for sex to ultimately have children when she doesn't want to, it can be an act of cruelty and be the grounds for divorce from the wife's side. And it can be an even bigger crime, if and when the honourable SC moves in the direction of criminalising marital rape. You have missed the point of RGV completely by assuming that consensual sex has already taken place.
