In this video: The article discusses the discovery of pesticide contamination in an apiary in Nebraska, which led to the investigation of a facility producing ethanol using pesticide-treated seeds. The contaminated waste from the process was found to be contaminating water sources and posing a threat to the ecosystem and human health. The author raises concerns about the pesticide industry and the need for better regulation. The importance of honey bees in uncovering such cases is highlighted, and the need for awareness and action to address pesticide misuse is emphasized.

I am a beekeeper in southern Oregon with lot's of timber land's around us. After harvesting our honey in late fall, I was getting ready to move my hive's back to were we winter them, I started to notice a strange behavior like they were disoriented, next started finding lot's dead bee's inside hive's and out side on the ground. I new then they must have been incontact with something. Started checking around with neighbors if any of them have spraying anything and they haven't, but several said that they had seen a helicopter spraying the timber lands the week before. I lost 28 hive's. Contacted the timber companies, they have nothing to say. My Loss.

Courts. With the number of beekeepers out there, it would cost the polluters $millions just in legal costs, plus the compensation. In a civil case, the standard of proof required is not nearly as high as the "beyond reasonable doubt" of a criminal case, it is just "on the balance of the evidence", and in each case brought by a beekeeper, all the other local beekeepers can give evidence in each other's cases.

What’s sooooo very upsetting here is that our government fund is acceptable that we can receive even small amounts of pesticides on a daily basis. Boy oh boy are we lost!!!

I heard recently that neonics are no longer giving much protection and may not be cost effective for farmers here in western Australia. we are waiting for the mites to come over the border and mysteriously the main buyer in this state has halved the price of bulk honey paid to us ,the price of diesel has doubled so i delay moving my bees risking starving them. I have a small income from local farmers market and shops. So I see the writing on the wall in capital letters. Keep up the good work.

It is so disheartening to see this. Especially when we are unable to fix the problem due to greed and corruption.

I've lost hives in Louisiana before due the abundance of farmland there. Not much can be done for us lowly beekeepers. But there is a do not spray list you can get on to prevent the parish from spraying pesticides and weed killer along your property that boarders public roads. It helps somewhat. Not sure if other states have this? My other home in Alaska has its own trials and tribulations beekeeping with the nearly 6 months of snow and very short foraging seasons.

Hello doctor. Experts say that there is no effective treatment for Thai sac brood in Apis serena bees. If there is an effective treatment for this, please tell me.

Unfortunately not. The best thing to do is to try to keep the bees as strong as they can so they can deal with the problem the way they know. If I find something else I will let you know.

Thank you very much. Especially in Asian countries, even in the mountainous parts of South Asian countries, many bee hives have been destroyed by this Thai sac brood in Serena beekeeping. A better treatment of this virus would benefit many beekeepers. I will be waiting for information on its better treatment.

I think so. I have an event caught on video. A bee a second for hours walked out and died. Returning bees crashed into the hive and died.

If you're in the Southeast near cotton fields, they've had an invasion of Brown Stink bugs damaging maturing bolls, they're spraying Bidgren #8, highly toxic to bees, I lost 20 double deeps to this, I'm thinking they feed the queen, she dies so they try to make emergency queens, I say this because every colony emergency cells

While the information on pesticide contamination is good, you really need a lesson on geography. @4:15, that is definitely not Nebraska, as indicated in your video!
