Dear Sir, it is a MISTAKE to use Apple cider vinegar inside the hive ( in warm weather) It is according to the University of Florida an attractant for the SHB to be put in SHB traps, but it evaporates so vegetable oil in a Cutt's Beetle Blaster is still a good ingredient. Note, in warm weather there are more SHBs flying about and who needs to attract them into a hive anyway? Sincerely James Rish Florida Beekeeper

I and Many Beekeepers do not use Synthetics, it appears that they didn't listen about making OA usable in the Unit. Keep using Synthetics and you will keep developing resistance, History has proven this over the years time and time again. Interesting Unit but at this stage cost prohibitive and they do not use Organic Acids as Treatment Methods. To each their own, plus they do not sell to small beekeepers. So there Is That....

We need to understand the strategy they are using. If they cannot convince investors that there is sufficient demand, the project won't progress in the long run. This is why their initial focus is on larger beekeepers and amitraz. However, it's clear they plan to expand into other areas as the project advances. I'll personally be testing the other compounds as well. Like many, I prefer natural solutions and am excited to see the results. They also have data on formic acid and other treatments, which will be interesting to review. Stay tuned-more videos on this topic are coming in the future. Thank you for stopping by!

Hello, I am a hobby beekeeper, can any of the geneticists answer my question.. When a bee colony accidentally loses its queen, the bees make forced queen cells. Usually it is from 10 to 20 queen cells. Some are made from the youngest larvae and some from 3-4 days old. Why? I think bees are not that stupid. We know that the queen mates with 10 to 20 drones. My question is: Does it have anything to do with selecting the best genetics from the best drones, do bees sense the genetic potential of certain larvae from certain drones???? Thanks in advance. Mr. Dženan Goralija, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
@denodkgoro812417 күн бұрын
Thesis: If a queen bee mates with 16 drone bees, she will produce 16 queen cells.
@InsideTheHiveTV16 күн бұрын
Scientific literature suggests that honey bees can detect what are called "royal genes." While this is not a well-established fact, some scientists believe honey bees can select the best larvae based on these genetic markers. They argue that artificial selection by queen breeders could dilute these royal genes, potentially leading to lower-quality queens over time. I hope this helps. Maybe I should make some videos about that. Would you enjoy them?
@denodkgoro812416 күн бұрын
@@InsideTheHiveTV Yes, that would be great and thanks for the answer. There are also many unknowns about what queen bee breeders have obtained by mixing breeds, types and phenotypes. In my area, extreme mixing of breeds has not yet occurred, cold winters maintain control over the development of some breeds. My observations in the hives and the big question mark above my head could open another topic. For example, what if we have a queen in the hive with Italian genes, and at one point bees with genes from Carnica drones predominate in the hive or vice versa. What is the correlation between bees and queens with different innate behaviors. Is this the cause of angry colonies, large colony losses, lack of honey harvesting, etc. Thank you and I hope to start a topic with competent interlocutors. I think that by asking the right questions to scientists and leading beekeepers, we can find answers to many problems in beekeeping. I support your activities and efforts for the betterment of bees. Best regards from Bosnia.
@denodkgoro812416 күн бұрын
I'm sorry for being so detailed in my presentation. This is just an example of my observations to explain the reason for the question..What's happening! I monitor and record the queens in my hives so that I can choose the progenitor for future queen production. I prefer our gray bee Apis mellifera carnica. During the two years of observation, the queen has a characteristic behavior for a carnica, there are gray bees on the frames, the drones are also gray, the pollen storage on the frames is specific to a gray bee, it brings a lot of honey and winters with little food. In the third year I'm getting ready to take the larvae for queen production and something unexpected happens. I see 30 percent of yellow Italian bees on the frames, by the end of the year there are more than 50 percent. The hive loses performance. In the fourth year, the hive is a disaster, a pale picture of a powerful colony remains.The queen was marked with a number and there was no queen replacement
@johnhenson886218 күн бұрын
I believe from other reading that Melliferous drones are preferred by varroa mite queens as a food source for laying their eggs and later varroa larvae can dine out on the drone.
