Very Well Explained. Sir I've one question What should Existing Investors do, who are investing through mutual funds, if there returns are negative. Should they stop their SIP and start investing in Index Fund or they should continue and wait till their are positive and then stop SIP in Mf and shift to index funds?? As mutual funds have more expense ratio and yet not sure about returns when compared to Nifty Index Fund. Please Reply. Thank you
@VarunMalhotraEIFS5 жыл бұрын
Sir, it is a tricky question. One since I am not an advisor I am not sure if I should respond to this. But if I were in your position I would first ask myself, do I believe that their would be definitely some funds which will beat the index but since it is impossible to find them, we invest in index which is not the best but at least you get your fair share of return which if compounded for a long time can create enormous wealth. If you are completely in sync with it, I might sell the existing Large Cap funds and shift to Nifty index and sell midcap funds and shift to say next 50 index fund. Also in the long run bse 500 might also be a great idea.. check kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHfHi5qeYrRrZqc But if you think there is a way to find the best fund.. pick the best one and if it underperforms the index for 3 consecutive years .. change it to the next best fund ..may be after few years you will realize the cost of shifting to different funds in terms of taxation is quiet high..and will move to an index fund.. But that's only if you are a know nothing investor..else just learn more about Warren Buffett kind of investing Regards, Varun Malhotra
@parthvaish97215 жыл бұрын
@@VarunMalhotraEIFS Thank you Sir it was helpful. Sir when you say Warren Buffet kind of investing you mean investing directly into stocks instead of index funds but don't you think it comes with more risk and uncertainty? And secondly comes the money part, suppose I start a SIP of 3000/month in index fund therefore i own every stock in nifty but when its about directly investing into stocks how can I own stocks as they are available at high prices whereas my pocket only allows 3k/month as I'm not yet earning. I get 3000 pocket money and I have been investing it in mutual funds from last two years. And I think this is the common issue alot of people like me facing. Regards, Parth 🙏 (23year old boy who is not yet earning) Would be kind enough if you reply this one too.
@ninaddongare65145 жыл бұрын
@@parthvaish9721 Bro I guess by 'Warren Buffet style of investing' he meant value investing. And secondly, if u think investing directly into stocks is risky, Index funds are doing nothing but investing into the stocks based on marketcap. They are just more diversified i.e. investing in 50 different stocks.

You say always invest in index (top 50 stocks or nifty 50) You are right in many ways no doubt. I have one question that the top retail investor of India "Rakesh Jhunjhunwala" has only one stock of nifty 50 in his entire portfolio (Titan Industries) all other he has out of the nifty 50 basket. (See his portfolio on trendlyne.com - superstars- portfolio) So can one not become wealthy by selecting fundamentally good stocks which are our of nifty 50
@VarunMalhotraEIFS5 жыл бұрын
Hello Sir, Of course you can become wealthy by picking stocks outside of nifty 50. That's not the point. The point is : How does a Retail Investor who can't or doesn't want to dedicate his life to investing in businesses and who neither has the inclination, the talent, the resources or the time to do what Rakesh Jhujhunwala did, how does such a person get his fair share of the growth in the indian economy. @VarunMalhotraEIFS5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely right. The only difference in returns you may be seeing and will see will be due to the date of starting of the fund, which impact how returns look and the expense ratio charged by the fund. The higher the expense ratio (management charges), the lower will be the return to investor. Thank you EIFS Team

Discovered your channel today, watched you for 3 hours already. 🍀 Really nice. Had my doubts cleared.Thank you! Have a question: Do you think that becoming a investor is unproductive? Say, I have ₹1 Crore. Case (1) If I am doing a business and earning 20% return over it, I am making a product which is going to be consumed at the end. Hence, it is productive. Case (2) Even if I am doing a job of ₹7 lacs and earning 13% over index fund on that ₹1 Crore, I am eventually earning ₹20 lacs, i.e. 20% p.a. But that job is productive. Case (3) I am an investor beating the market and earning 20% p.a. This doesn't make a product or a service. Doesn't that make me unproductive?
