There is something so honest and earnest about Vasan. I like how he simply confessed to having being heart-broken for two months after the "failure" of Jigra. He just seems like he has a good head on his shoulders, genuinely loves the movies, and has the right thinking about things - feminine power, etc. I really want such filmmakers to succeed in Bollywood so desperately! I hope it can happen next for him :(

"मर्द को दर्द नहीं होता" मुझे बहुत अच्छी लगी थी। "जिगरा" फिल्म मैंने देखा ही नहीं क्योंकि फिल्म में आलिया भट्ट थी। आलिया भट्ट एक अपरिपक्व अभिनेत्री हैं लेकिन चाटूकार चिंदी मीडिया उनका गुणगान गाते नहीं थकता। "जिगरा" में मृणाल ठाकुर जैसी सशक्त अभिनेत्री को लिया गया होता तो बेहतर था।

If this guy was as serious about writing a good screenplay as he is about tributes, fanboyism and putting bollywood references in his movies. He would have more work and not fuck up his and his friend Somen Mishra 's career in Dharma. I was so distracted by the Easter eggs n references he was putting in unnecessaryily in Jigra. His problem is he's at his heart a pulpy genre film maker. He tried a big budget commercial potboiler which requires lot more dumbing down, he tried but his intellect and moviphilia held him back to make some sort of Khichdi. Jigra is a khichdi.

Bro, just sit and watch the film... it was actually boring... nothing elevated the scenes, people couldn't connect to the characters, it was really a waste effort from Alia specially. Whatever you talk about your conviction.. you have to make people sit through a movie then its a victory. Same like Mani Ratnam's -Raavan, Malaikottai Vaaliban or Odiyan....

ah so now you’re assuming I’m not capable of liking an actor unless she is PR packaged to me and I’m blinded by marketing done on her. Who’s the one making assumptions now? Until last year, I didn’t even check Instagram or read film websites or so Reddit digging to know what people are saying about actors. All I’ve done is watched movies since 2014, and her acting blew me away every single time: even I was waiting for her to ruin an Imtiaz movie when I found out she’s in highway but she was soooooo good that I had to eat my words. I think you’re the one who’s been marketed the DISLIKE of “Nepo” actors to, by PR of other famous and powerful people. Not your fault, people can be gullible :)
