Hey Jon, thanks for the mention and fair play on remembering! Great review and great words. Few things i noted when using: 1. Make sure to shake first 2. Make it the first thing you do before set-up, therefor give ample time to work 3. Spray on bodywork and do wheels while waiting 4. On windy days/ sunny days, may need to top up areas that dry Just a couple of tips for using it. Well done on trying it out, it will take some playing around with in different scenarios to get used to it but an awesome product all round i feel 👍👏

If I remember correctly, many years ago, in your tar remover mega test, Tardis didn't do any damage to plastic when left to dry (even though it says not to let it dry). So it seems pretty safe despite being much more powerful.

This product has been available in Ireland for a few years now and it regarded as the only true touchless non contact tar remover. Best results are if left for an hour plus or over night in doors. It's very efficient on removing tar, as pre wash I wouldn't be overly impressed and I would prefer wash the car first before applying this. Only downsides are the length of time it has to be left for to work properly and it not applied evenly you'll have spots of tar left over as they didn't get enough product on them. @ocd detailing has videos of it working on cars on their KZbin channel.

In winter time i use this kind of product topped with Auto foam or Touch-less for pre-wash.

From this video, I've taken from it that a blast over with Surfex HD, followed by Tardis and a rinse is going to offer the same end result as Vasco, or even better, in a fraction of the time.

Your not wrong Jon. The roads in Ireland are bad hence why this product is so popular. It defo needs at least a few hours dwell (overnight is better but not essential) and I find it does not affect my protection on the car so in essence its a very safe touchless tar remover IMHO, compared to the other instant tar removers that strip protection. I do think once you have used this a bit more you will fall in love with it. Enjoyed watching this video👍🏽

In Norway, it is common practice to use a degrease like this and top it with snowfoam. We have several different companies that make and sell their own brand of degreaser. Haven't used this one before, though.

Good video Jon. Appreciate the order. I was a bit iffy about the product but it has its uses. As a professional business, most of the time the car is dropped off the night before for me and this is the 'head start' by allowing the dwell. Other idea would be that you spray on as soon as you start work in the morning, get your equipment set up, respond to a few enquiries and boil the kettle, this is working as you are busy. It's hugely popular in Republic of Ireland, tar is much more of an issue there compared to Northern Ireland where I'm based. The other benefit I see that's not really commented on much here is that is targeting both oil/ grease as well as tar, it avoid the need for the citrus and the tardis. Do I use this in every car? No. Where times allow I will and I've also found it great for adhesive jobs.

Here in Sweden we call it a "cold degreaser". It's petroleum based in order to remove petroleum dirt like asphalt, tar and road salt (same as the tar remover in the rest of the world). However, it's not meant to be rivalling Bilt Hamber, it's meant to work in collaboration with it. Here we first lay the cold degreaser and let it sit for a few minutes. We then top it with an alkaline cleaner to remove all the natural, non petroleum dirt like traffic film. So I would recommend you to first put this on your car from the bottom and up to the side windows, then let it dwell for a few minutes.After that spray on your alkaline foam. In the rest of the world I noticed that the tar remover comes in at the last step of the wash, after the snow foam and the schampoo steps. Here we use it first in the way I described above.

I heard this for Scandinavian countries first from Alan (AM Details) featuring in a video by Chelsea attention to detail that the tar is very bad in these areas, learning something new all the time. We have a road near me that is shocking and dropping to bits. Council or highways are gonna repair to and it will be two months since reported. I use it everyday to get to work and the amount of tar my cars picking up is shocking. Thankfully it’s black so you can’t see it

Like Koppen said, we use this kind of degreaser on a dry car, let it sit for 5-10 min depending on the temperature and weather, then use alkaline foam on top of it. Works really well.

And one more thing, there are much better cold petroleum based degreasers than this brand for cheaper price.

interesting. It is a tar remover / tfr combined, I have that correct? So more expensive, not a great trigger sprayer, not the best under test conditions. The question for me is, is this more effective or better value than my current / Gyeon tar? If BH did a tar remover that was more effective than this I'd buy it, but I'll probably give this a miss, mostly down to availability

This is an unbelievable tar remover. I left this on overnight on a 16 year old golf that was very unloved and destroyed in tar. Power washed it off next morning and there wasn't a single spec of tar left, and it done no harm to any plastic. Its very popular here in Ireland.
@Harry92evers10 ай бұрын
Just to add to this, this does not dry out when left on the car in a shaded area or cloudy day, whereas tardis is heartbreak to use, it dries far too fast and you're constantly spraying more on, especially where you have chunks of tar. I use vasco when doing wheel arches, just lash it on and forget about it for a few hours or overnight humour depending. No contact scrubbing needed, just pressure wash it off. I've never left it on a car for less than an hour but even after an hour it works perfect. I recently gave my car a deep clean using it. Ease of use is by far my favourite thing about it, plus Im not using it professionally, so I'm in no big hurry for it to work. One word of warning about it though, becarful of it on any stuck on badges on a car if leaving it on for a long period of time. I sprayed it on my sisters bmw and left it overnight, next day the 520d badges just fell off.

I watched all your recent videos about citrus pre wash which i thought was really good and informative and showing the top run down 10 as well is great for me and helps me choose when buying the product . The only problem i have found is that most are out of stock like Planetwax road kill and 5l of KKD so i am looking at Autobite which was low down in your scores .

Looks like a good idea in theory but garbage in reality. Who wants to be waiting all that time for it to work? You could have it pre washed, washed, de-tarred and dried whilst the Vasco is still sat there. As for leaving it overnight, thats just laughable.

It definitely offers significantly more traffic film removing ability compared to Tardis while still being effective on tar. I can see the benefit of this product as I personally HATE the tar removal stage. Even with Tardis it isn't as easy as spraying over the car, waiting a few mins then rinsing. It needs agitation & it's brutal on the elbows plus Tardis dries out extremely quickly to the point you need to use it panel to panel making it a time consuming task. If something like this Vasco could be sprayed over the full car, even just the lower half, allowed to dwell 30 mins during set up & strip the car of the majority of traffic film & more importantly tar on rinsing, that would be an extremely handy product as imo it's saving time & effort. Big achilles heal is the price but then if you use it once or twice per year to keep on top of tar spots, 5L would last years... I can see some real benefits here but can you confirm it strips the tar with a longer 30 min dwell Jon? 🤔
