I want to thank you for all of the work you did. People don't realize this is a SERIOUS amount of time and effort it's actually ridiculous. I'm looking for a product now as I just had my windscreen replaced due to a rock hit so perfect time to do it now. My last product I tried it had judder with the wipers I actually thought I did something wrong and it's not for wipers to go over hahaha now repairs that's actually a thing in the stats you covered. I need easy of use no judder and goo lasting ...so it seems like the quick view will be the one for me that is available locally in Sydney. Thank you so so much again. SUBBED due to the extreme effort you put in.

I have noticed that with some of the glass coatings. If they are on the less slick side they can judder a little. I’ve made the mistake of putting paint coatings that are grabby on the windshield (personal vehicle to test) and my lord the judder was crazy. Had to apply a slick topper to let them slide until I could buff it off.

I've been using Angelwax H2Go for 8 weeks/4,500 miles this Fall, and it's gone already. This time of year we've had some snow, fog, and rain. My wife drives the car everyday and she uses the wipers like normal, not liking to leave them off. After about 6 weeks it was clear the coating under the wipers was gone. The first areas to go were where the blades changed direction. A definite line of non-hydrophobicity. The unwiped areas are a little less hydrophobic but still okay. No wiper chatter and the glass does stay very clean. In the beginning, it was great at resisting bug guts, while they were still active. I just applied it again today after a full clean and polish.

Great video John! I have used a few of these products that are available here in Canada. I have G1 on three different windshields at the moment, with no juder at all, but the beads don't fly as fast as they should but almost no haze after the wiper travels over it. H2Go is a great product and beads very well, last about 6 months plus, easier to apply but has a little bit of haze after wiper travel and performs similar to G5 (I have application issues with G5). CarPro has not been a winner for me either. Gyeon Glass plus cleaner provides very easy use and great beading but produces more haze with wiper travel. I don't like wiper travel haze so G1 is my perferred product but H2Go is right up there for me but my favorite detail site doesn't carry Angel Wax products so I haven't picked up a new bottle.

I have H2Go. I stopped using it due wiper judder. Recently Dave of Epic did a video saying to also treat the blades with the repellant as it helps with judder. Knowing I already have a winning product on the shelf, I'll try this next time I wash the car as I do love the safety benefits of a repellant.

Great test!!! I am always interested in glass sealants and coatings. Had great results with Aquapel, GTechniq and the most surprising because of how easy it was to use, XPel Fusion (although this is not available to the public). The one not on your list that is a sealant and super fast and easy to apply is Nextzett Glass Sealant. I can literally do my whole truck in 10 mins or less. Apply to the applicator (you get a ton for the price and a little bit goes a long way), let it haze, then buff off with a water dampened microfiber or glass towel. I get at least 4-6 months on the windshield and 12 months or more on the side windows. Not bad for a $30 bottle that can cover my truck windows at least 24 times over. I end up having so much I do my neighbors and families windows. Oh and my shower glass 😂

I have used H2GO extensively as Angelwax are about 5 mins along the road from me and it is my product of choice for winter protection. I currently use Autofinesse glass cleaner as it has an element of hydrophobicty built into it and Mitchell & King glass cleaner, polish and glass treatment if it is my own cars.

Nice test, thank you. As said, very informative. I'd liked to have seen a comparison of a windscreen mock-up of driving into headlights at night (or sun during the day). From personal experience years ago I found RainX was distracting like slightly greasy spectacles. But I found (the never mentioned) A-Glaze Crystal Vision product far better (though harder to apply properly). I'll try the Soft99 next. I guess the 'Haze' / 'Sharpness' results are the closest things for me to look at - thought I have no idea what the numbers mean in real day-to-day or night-to-night :) For me, optical quality is far more important than whether it lasts 3 months or 4 months. The video snippets for wiper judder (aiming towards illuminated logo) showed some pretty unacceptable smearing I thought.

Wondering whether it could be due to incomplete removal. (i.e, the failure to buff thoroughly, to a streak free finish). It can take considerable time & effort to buff some products off completely. It is also tricky to see the streaks too.

@groundcontrol6876 Жыл бұрын
I've always used and been very impressed with Rain-X. It's EXTREMELY hydrophobic and in my experience very durable. I just HATE the application (probably in part due to the particular way I do it, but that's how I've found the most success.) For the best performance of ANYTHING regardless of the instructions, I ALWAYS polish the glass before application and make sure it's bare and flat. If the glass is in pretty good condition (many times will already be a bit hydrophobic), then a regular compounding with a cutting pad will do. If it's rough though (both figuratively or literally) and/or has water impressions on it, then I go for the ceriglass and the glass WILL BE perfectly prepped. Then I do the application process and even the crappiest product will make it bead and last. Would love to try the Angelwax, Glaco (FUSSO is my fave wax ever), and the Infinity Wax (it's near impossible to get a lot of the UK stuff where I live, so I'll have to check). Interesting vid, doubt even the "bad" performers in the haze/sharpness tests would be able to be noticed by someone who didn't know what was on the glass.

This is the best, most comprehensive, most scientific test on glass sealants ever done. Period. However, and stemming from my won experience with glass sealants, there is one MAJOR flaw in the testing methodology: you tested wiper judder on just one car. In regards to wiper judder, my personal experience is that it HEAVILY depends on the specific car you apply the sealant to. The pressure which the wipers are putting down to the glass, the material / brand of the wiper blades, the glass etc. all play a role. And what you usually see is that if you experience wiper judder on your car, you experience it with almost any glass sealant. I think that the aspect of wiper judder should have been tested on several cars. That being said, your test video showed that there clearly were differences between the sealants on your one car, so I could be completely wrong in that respect. Either way, that doesn‘t take anything away from what I said above: the test itself is superb!

Question Jon. I’ve always been happy with H2GO but next time I apply I’m looking to prepare the windscreen more thoroughly by using a clay bar first then Auto Glym windscreen polish prior to applying the product. Would you recommend doing the same for optimal performance? If anyone is looking to using H2GO for the first time I would definitely recommend NOT using it in any sunlight, waiting 10-15 minutes before buffing off and applying a second layer. Running low of this product so was pleasing to see it top the boards. Great product!
