Agree 100%. Why do so many Indian cities do that. It sucks the beauty out of the place. Whats worse is that even those markings are painted amateurishly, no straight lines, as if some cheap contract was awarded to a laborer who painted it anyway they could. Then, there is no process to regularly clean these things, so over time they accumulate dust and look dirty.
