Just one tiny little moment in the video that drives me crazy as a machinist. 😅 Please.. DO NOT USE GLOVES WHEN GRINDING PARTS BY HAND! 🙈 A colleague unfortunately had to learn that the hard way by losing a finger, so... Please keep safe and keep your fingers guys, because they're priceless. 🙈 Edit: This is just a reference to the phrase: 'You can also use gloves [...]'. For those who start arguing about the fact that you don't wear them in this video.

One question: why was it necessary to make two small holes near the nose. Through them, the virus can enter the respiratory tract. And the rest of the work is done very well: this mask looks incredible stylish.

None of these DIY masks are for sanitary use. Leather is a very breathable material, even without the holes.

@VasileandPavel4 жыл бұрын
I didn't worked stingray, I do not know exactly what is it's consistency, I guess you should line it with something soft on the inside. The leather needs to be able to bend a little and It should roughly be around 2-2.5 mm so it won't be stiff on your face. You can join our facebook group at facebook.com/groups/leatherpattern

I get mine from a chemist, but all the Infos are in the description. if you buy a standard respirator and laminate leather to it and replace the plastic and elastic head strap with leather and buckles you can then easily use industry standard P100 filters which are superior to the recommended N95. I went with the Honeywell/North brand model 7700. The filters are purple but if you scuff them up lightly with a Scotch Bright pad and carefully hand paint them with Rustolium hammered finish paints the result is pretty awesome.

This was a cool video. I'm not sure how this mask would protect you from covid 19 though, as I didn't see you actually put any kind of filters in it... as for the design, it's cool, very steampunk, but I don't know why you'd put a strap going between the eyes, because that would be quite annoying to wear. I also wish you would've showed all the steps of assembling the masks. Still a nice video though 👍

It could work actually, if you make the canisters from plastic it would be lighter and then you wouldn't need the head harness ( canisters from spice bottles, they already come with holes.. Also, you can make the valve, at least a simple one with a rubber glove and tape: the filter for the other canister is much easier to do. Finally seal the inside with foam of disposable face masks.Just saying.
