Hey gal. I am a nail tech. I am ok with people using these, just make.sure after you file your nails you take a 91 or 99 % rubbing alcohol with a pint free pad and clean the nail plate prior to application of the nails. This prevents any fungus building up under the nail due to the dust left behind from filing.

Will it still last three weeks if you ONLY file the inside of the nail? I’m so antsy about filing the tops of my real nails but it sounds necessary to really anchor them down.😬
@professionalcommenter4 жыл бұрын
@@Me-mb1ex You don't have to use a 100 grit, it's important to have a rough surface so the glue can fully adhere to the nail bed. So if you did both the nail and the bed it would probably work better for you.
@TheMelrose19614 жыл бұрын
I have been doing my own nails exactly like this and with the Kiss brand for more than 10 years..The only thing I do differently is to put several coats of clear polish on prior to filing because I dont want to make my nail bed paper thin..but you need the filing for the nails to adhere...People have been complimenting me for years...for glue spillage I use a qtip and non acetone polish remover...I have to carry the glue at all times and sometimes a few spares in case of poppage...lol They are so versatile and you can use your own polish anytime...oh well my secrets out now..lol But I just had to agree with you..You're the best😍

I guess with that track record there is no problem with the glue adhering to the (filed) painted nail? How long do they typically stay on? Thanks!
@Blessed-2-b-a-Hembree4 жыл бұрын
TheMelrose1961 How long do the nails stay on before they pop? It’s seems like the clear polish would cause the artificial nail to not bond to the natural nail.

Great idea. Thank you. X
@KODoch485 жыл бұрын
A dental tool pick works even better (faster) than the floss technique (although that is a good one). I bought mine at CVS in the dental area. It came with one of those little mouth mirrors. It has just the right thinness and curve to get between the nail and your nail bed. I don't even use anything but a good soak in dishwashing liquid to soften up the glue, and this thing pops them right off without damage! BTW ... I learned the application initially from an earlier video Brittany did on this, and have used her technique ever since. I use the GEL regular superglue from Dollar Tree to apply them; it has way better control and less run-off! No difference in ingredient!

I've been doing my nails exactly like this at home for 20 years. I have thin nails so I use a medium grit file to rough them up first. They typically last 15-20 days. And then I let them "breathe" for 5-7 days before applying again. I get so many compliments all the time. Great video, as always.

You don’t actually need to let your nails breathe, I’m a nail tech and there is no such thing as letting your nails breathe. You can give them a break but your nails are better when they have things on them because it protects them from daily stuff you do.
@kat_99994 жыл бұрын
Maybe "breathe" isnt the right word but when my nails come off, they are damaged because they are so thin. So I definitely need to give them a break before roughing them up and reapplying or else I'd eventually have no nails. When I dont have nails on, I apply nail treatment nightly to strengthen them.

I’ve been using glue on nails for years and I love them. I’ve used a lot of different brands, and have found Kiss brand nails to be the best. I have lately been using the brush on nail glue because it’s less messy. These nails look so good and are much cheaper than other options. If you apply them correctly, they can last for at least 2 weeks. I use gloves when I do dishes or when cleaning my house; this helps protect them from lengthy exposure to water. I can’t afford to have my nails professionally done, so these are a perfect option for me. Good instructional video, thank you!!

I love that this is back on trend. I have been doing these since I was 11. I contacted all these years. I occasionally got acrylics, but this is a niche cheaper option. I can make mine last 2 weeks. I was occasionally made fun of for using these, but now it the trendy thing to use 🤷🏼♀️ I love these nails!! You did great

A tip for you is to wear gloves while doing the dishes as it keeps your nails out of the water which soften the adhesiveness of the glue and your nails may stay on longer

They look good. I find it extremely embarrassing when they pop off in the middle of an event or dinner. Happened to me once never have I used them again. Love your video though.

You carry an extra glue in your purse. That's what I do.

It happened to me too 😂 I carry a glue with me now. It's worth the $money saved at the end of the month.
@jgheart30184 жыл бұрын
lol, even worse in my opinion - I had one pop off while I was using my hands to mix my meatloaf and didn't notice it was gone until the meatloaf was in the oven. I offered a prize to the family member who found it - now I wear disposable gloves when mixing anything with my hands.

I don't know why that would embarrass you. Just carry glue. Women break nails all the time
