Kitchen is an integral part of our life
See, kitchen shows transformation
Raw flour comes home, we create Indian bread (Roti)
You bring vegetables at home and cook delicious food
This is a form of energy, which causes transformation
The placement of kitchen is very important according to Vastu principles
On the basis of this either positive energy is transformed or negative energy are transformed
When talking about all 5 elements, Earth, Water, Air, Fire, & Space, Fire is considered to be the strongest element
If fire burns in a controlled manner it is considered good
In Hindu religion, Fire plays an important role
In the same manner, if the fire burns in a controlled manner it is good, but if burns in an uncontrolled manner it also takes the form of a disaster
The placement of the kitchen it can change our entire life
What should happen so that the food that you cook is delicious
Many people cook delicious food, but what is more important is that it should be nutritious
the food should contain all positive energies, positive feelings, so that your kids, your parents, your family members, anyone who eats that food stay healthy
Everyone knows that the kitchen should be in the South-East of the house, the element of fire
90-degree South kitchen as also considered ok
Similarly, the second-best place for kitchen is North-West direction
If you have a Western kitchen, and you keep the gas burner on the Northern side i.e. North-Western side, they are also considered fine
Hence, one should never think that if my kitchen is not in the South-East then it is not good.
Let's talk about our facing
Whenever you cook, try to ensure that you either face East or North.
In a North-Western kitchen you can also face West direction
Fire & Water i.e. Gas & Water Sink should never be very close to each other. The minimum distance between the two should be 6 feet.
Ideally 6 feet apart otherwise they should be on different slabs
Because Fire & Water are both antagonistic elements, and whenever they are together, they create discord.
So please ensure that the Water & Fire are both some distance apart
Next comes our cabinets. The place we store all our groceries
Ensure that you store the grocery on the Southern or Western wall of the kitchen.
If you already have a kitchen, then no issues, you can segregate the items
All heavy items, such as large quantity of flour, rice, utensils etc, that are heavy by weight, should be placed on the Southern or Western Wall
And, in the Northern & Eastern walls store some lightweight items in the cabinet, such as crockery and small containers
Colours are very important. If you have a Southern or South-Eastern kitchen then try to colour it in the colours of fire i.e. red, yellow, orange.
It is not necessary that you paint your entire kitchen in the red or yellow, you can also use tinges of colours. You can use white & cream as well.
-North-Western kitchen use the shades of white & grey colours
There is only one colour, blue, which we do not recommend in a kitchen because it represents water element
Kitchen and the toilet sharing a common wall, a problem
If you already live in a house and have similar Vastu Dosh, then these kind of dosh give issues related to health in the family members
So, always approach a Vastu Expert for this
Always remember, there should be fire above & below fire ie. Kitchen above or below a kitchen.
There should never a toilet above a kitchen (fire). There will always be health related problems
There should not be any room above the kitchen, it depicts that you are lying on your pyre
One will always face critical health related issues
So, always remember there should be kitchen above a kitchen. You can construct a store room, pantry, living room, but not a room for someone to stay in.
The kitchen should never come infront of the main door
Otherwise there are many issues of accidents
Never should it happen that kitchen and toilets face each other.
Ensure that the door of the toilet is always closed.
Or, you can place a permanent curtain in between
In todays world there is trend of open kitchen
i.e if a female is cooking the there should not be the entrance of the kitchen, any openness or arch
females face problems related to backache or pain in their feet

Clear explanations!! Can you please clarify a query? If the SE direction is extended to make a new kitchen, and old kitchen no longer is used, and problems like litigation arise what remedies can be done. Should one shift the gas burner to old kitchen and discontinue using new kitchen. In that case what should be kept in new kitchen to mitigate problems. Please advise.

Extension in SE is not good, it can lead to many problems, BUT it would also depend on other internal placements of the house. So my recommendation is that you should not do anything without taking expert help.

Mam should be consider odd number or even number burner for our stoves as per vastu? In vastu they say fire source should always be in odd numbers. Like we have to light 1 or 3 or 5 agarbattis and not even numbered
