એ મૂક્યું વન, એ મૂક્યા જન, ઘણે વર્ષે મળ્યાં જે ક્ષણ,
મૂક્યા ડુંગર ને નદી, વતન ના એ કોતરો, ખેતર;
આંખો બે રહી ભાળતી વળી વળી પાછી, ભીડ્યું એ ઘર
વેચાઈ ગયું ઢોર જેમ તલખે કોઢાર, છોડ્યું ધણ.
કેડી આગળ જાય, પાય અવળા, કેમે કરી ઉપડે;
આંખો જાય ભરાઈ વાટ તરુ ની કંટાળી ડાળી નડે;
હૈયું ઉઝરડાય રક્તટશિયા ફૂટે ધીમે થી ઝમે
આઘે વેકૂર થી નદી ની હજીયે આ આંગળીયો રમે.
ચાલો જીવ, જવાનું આગળ, નહિ આ કાળ ના વ્હેણ માં
પાછા ઉપરવાસ શક્ય વહેવું, પાણી લૂછી નેણ ના;
ભારો લઇ ભૂત નો શિરે વણપૂછે શા વેઠ્યા ચાલવું
સાથે શ્વાન, પૂરી થતા હદ હવે એને પાછા જવું.
આઘે ખેતર જોઉં બે કર કરી ઊંચા મને વારતી
એ મારી ભ્રમણા ? રિસાળ શિશુ ને બોલાવતી બ હતી !!
