Thanks be to God for Ralph Vaughan Williams. I cannot tire of this piece of music, and it is played perfectly in this recording/video. I love the registration and the way the organist, John Challenger, pulls out the melody. I am moved every time I hear "Rosymedre," and when I hear it played like this -- it is sublime. Thank you for your musicality and facility with the keyboard. So lovely. ❤

I've been a long time admirer of John Challanger probably ever since I heard him play live for the first time; a choral evensong if I recall and piece in question being a particular favorite- the Finale to Vierne's Symphony No1. Here he plays what is probably one of my favorite pieces and what a rendering of it; it is a typical Challanger performance, perfect in every way and difficult to hold back the tears such is its power to evoke the most potent of feelings. Naturally a true talented artist must have his 'brushes' and in this John is equally fortunate in having what must be one of the finest instruments in our noble land. I remember being fortunate in having a guided tour of the organ loft by the said Mr Challanger who rather than rushing off took time to remain to grant my request. A talented player, undoubtably, an ambassador for the organ, no question and a genuinely nice human being, no question.

Love this tune. In the Lutheran Tradition it has a Lenten text: My Song. Is Love Unknown/ and it works very well for that, as well as the text it enjoys in English Hymnody. Lovely registration. Loved playing it over the years, such a soothing and comforting melody.
