Vmp supercharger or Garrett’s new g series turbos make pretty good power... you can also throw a small shot of nitrous to use as a spool aid to keep the car in boost; it just depends.

A solid steering angle kit would change them game for this car.
@comradical4 жыл бұрын
JTP used to make a kit for s197, but all that stuff is gone from his site now. You could change the front suspension to an S550, I have seen that done, and get an S550 kit from JTP on it to get past 70 degrees of angle in the front. You can also go to a JTP-style belt driven top-mount Roush supercharger setup (from the procharger setup), you could run 900hp and have it be nice and live and responsive. You could go full JTP-style and just get a 9.5 compression ford racing block and throw a Roush kit on top of it, and you will have two serial numbered parts you can order at any time and get 1000HP out of it (I mean you will need injectors and a pulley kit with it, some other bits and bobs). Or you could go the other route and take all that off, grab a set of gt350 heads to up the displacement to 5.2, increase compression to probably around 12:1, throw in an MMR stroker kit to up the displacement to 5.5l, add sleeves for extra safety and maintainability, add direct port and get back to if not 900, close to a 900hp NA motor with NA response, and you lose a tad bit of weight of the supercharger and intercooler outside of the wheelbase and move weight distribution back a bit with that plus the bottle. I also don't know if that car still has stock height engine mounts, if so, a few companies make a tubular front k member and brace assembly that drops your engine mounts by about a 1/2 an inch. Also, do you know who makes those fiberglass parts, especially the crazy (awesome) rear quarter panels? (I am also building an s197 chassis, though for much more grass-roots series at this point) I would also go back to a plexiglass windshield by adding a center support bar for it, modern FD style, and if you want crazier/involved ideas, I would love to see if the engine can be moved back into the firewall. With a supercharger setup, go to a water to air intercooler and move the cooler into the trunk (or boot), go to an under the car fuel cell (i know some company in Australia makes them), add a bend to the harness bar to slide the seat back (Daigo-style), pedal box, longer steering shaft, also you may be able to find a lighter assist EPS motor to get some steering feedback and usable self steer back hopefully?

Was only ever a demo car from the lack of quick change, tube framing and fuel cell, FD car was a lot more light weight panels. FD car was destroyed in Texas.

They have a great staff I'm pretty sure remote tuning and can definitely match your power levels. If that is true 302 it's a Terminator engine which came in the Boss 302 in 2012 in the states. Unicorn drift knuckle kit.com yes that is the name LOL space makes a pretty aggressive angle kit for the s197. As for the solid axle and electronic power steering man up buttercup its a freedom machine!!!🦄🤘🇺🇸

Aero Aero Aero for top speed. And why not go with an IRS with revised suspension. Get rid of the old supercharger and turbo the thing along with talking to Vaughn if you can and get his advice on the front suspension mods needed. I really think if you could get a steering rack back into the car so it self steers that would be the ultimate goal. If your going to swap in suspension I'd look at R34 Gtt rear wheel only set ups which are driftèd in Japan everywhere. I'm sure there would be companies adapting knuckles and caster kits etc for the skyline and the car weighs over 3000lbs from the factory so already is designed strong enough to take that sort of weight. And in terms of turbo I'd look at the latest Garret line or Precision Turbo. The last thing would to make sure you go with a flex fuel sensor and run an ethanol fuel as the water content will reduce your charge temps allowing you a denser mixture giving you the ability to get more fuel and air through the engine. I'd go with a smaller compressor housing but larger rear housing as the rear housing will restrict your exhaust and always be the choke point for your exhaust system . And if you can't get the set up running so when ur shifting you are staying in the power band you can always just try shortening the drag diff. I'm assuming it should be fairly easy on a drag race application diff. And last thing I'll say is to check out "Banks Power" on KZbin. There's one very intelligent person with world land speed records under his belt who's seemingly just trying to spread all the knowledge he has accumulated over the history of turbo charging car engines. P.S. Have you tried using NOS to ramp in and fill the gap between gear change and boost from the blower coming in?
@driftgames_life4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all the advice man, you have really helped us out and given plenty of food for thought!
@PaulBuffano914 жыл бұрын
The TR6060 wasn’t actually only used in LS applications, it was also used in the 2007-2014 Shelby GT500’s. Great transmission with lots of power handling. Also, a TVS blower like a VMP or Whipple would help out your boost lag situation. With those types of superchargers, the boost is generated instantly, which means absolutely no lag, and gives you the response of an N/A motor which is great for drifting. DriftKnuckles also makes an angle kit for the S197’s that should fit this car. I believe you can check it out here: www.drifthq.com/products/driftknuckles-com-ford-mustang-2005-2014-s197-unicorn-angle-kit
