Vaughn V9 "Dallas Stars" Full Set REVIEW

I have V9s with faux straps and rolls. Went with Joseph rookie year colors. Love the retro logo I once had the 4500 Turco Vaughns, their answer to Helite 5. Schneider had Vortek before turning pro.

I’m absolutely loving all the mods on the pads/glove/blocker, this seems like 90% a perfect set, build wise, in my eyes! The only 10% I’d add now after watching your review on the v10’s is the integrated knee stack, and the v10 thinner outer roll.

To get that integrated knee stack, you’d have to go V10 built pad because the knee stack ties more into the complete core of the pad, not just the back of it. Agreed on the outer roll though.

Also, Itech 11.8 X Wing is one of the best graphics of all time.

I have another design cooking that I’m thinking about doing, you’d probably like it! So would it be possible to do the v10 core build with all your specs basically for this V9 set? And if so, can I get it as soft as the v9’s, I saw in your v10 video you said it was a much stiffer pad and kind of a different direction for Vaughn in the velocity series.

No. You have to make a choice, V9 or V10. Two different builds with specs that can’t change between the models.

Love the content man, keep it up! If I can make two suggestions, Try and grab a mic to clip on and wear to limit some background noise. Also, consider some close up “beauty shots” edited in to show off your mods or areas that you are highlighting for explanation. Can be hard to see with the camera auto focusing especially on a dark base pad.

How do you find the palm protection. I had a v7 game ready and used to get a lot of stingers there. Switched to Bauer game ready and ample protection. Now considering going back to V9 and want to match the hyperlite protection level.

Never had an issue with the palm protection on this glove.

As I noted, I hand drew that blocker graphic and loosely based it off of a Petr Mrazek blocker graphic from when he was with the Hurricanes. The base custom sheet I used was just the V9 Vintage with the hand drawn photo attached of what I wanted.

Clone is a stretch. If you’re chasing the feel and want a North American build, the XP gloves will fill that void.
