That was deep. Very moving and incredibly moving. Your words and devoted friendship with Brian is straight from the heart. I think Brian saw a lot of his younger self in you Vaughn. That song was remarkable. Hey, maybe when you're ready, you could work on that Echo and Bunnyman project in the future? Thank you for this video. RIP Brian Griffin, you'll never be forgotten ❤

I remember ending my PhD thesis (2020) on multimodality with Brian's brilliant front cover photograph for 'A Broken Frame', and using it as the perfect example of an image that captures emotion, movement and spirit in the most subtle yet intricate ways. I made a point of doing that, because his work is different, and important. My condolences, and thank you for honouring him in your projects and videos.

Thank you for sharing so openly such private moments. My thoughts and sympathies to Brian’s family, yourself and to his close circle of friends … I wish we all had a privilege of a friendship so close and deep as the one you had with Brian. Wishing you and your family all the best in your new home in Estonia.

You gave Brian the greatest gift a man could wish for....relevance in his time...a new lease of life that in his older wisdom he could actually appreciate...you gave him a career eulogy that he could live through in his final years....without you his final years would have probably been unmourned...you brought him back to life...for the masses....

Brian was, in every sense, a true artist. Watching his interviews with Vaughan, he was clearly sensitive and had a great love for the grand concept. Love his work, Vaughn you were lucky to know him. I was very sad when I heard of his passing, he was a pillar of 80s cover art.

When George visited Brian on the 21st December, he sent me a few pictures from that night. What a funky apartment, was his first comment. Later, when George finally went back home on his 90-minute car ride, he had so much praise to share over the phone. Regards, Peter

Lovely to hear he’s laid to rest back in Lye. A town he probably longed to leave as a youngster, but, when the time came, it called him home. Thank you, Vaughn, for sharing your friendship, your warmth, your banter with Brian, with all of us. The picture of you, giving Brian a big kiss, is such a lovely moment to have captured in time. You clearly had a huge affection for him, and he for you, I’m sure. Rest in peace, Brian.

Something that truly stood out to me about Brian was his remarkable capacity for self-critique. He possessed the ability to acknowledge when a project was executed well from both a visual and technical standpoint, even if the initial idea was spontaneous-much like the cover of "Speak and Spell," which, despite its simplicity, exuded honesty and authenticity (it could have been invented any story and yet it was honest). He didn't shy away from admitting when a project, such as Black Celebration, fell short of expectations without resorting to excuses or technical jargon. This level of honesty and self-awareness significantly bolstered his credibility when discussing his successful endeavors (A Broken Frame, Construction Time Again, Some Great Reward, everything for Echo & the Bunnymen, etc). In my view, this genuine self-criticism is where true genius lies, as it allows one to recognize and appreciate the brilliance in their best work. Rest in Peace and Thanx for this video Vaughn

Thanks for sharing your story. Everyone grieves differently and I found from experiences of loved ones passing that it was always best to surround yourself with friends and family and talk about it. You did an amazing job here creating your tribute to an amazing man whom I wish I would’ve met in person but grateful to have spoke to him on Zoom when you and Brian were on the DM Global Drink Chats. I hope one day I can meet you Vaughn, in person, even though I’ve also met you only on Zoom on the DM Global Drink n Chats which included a fun time playing DM Jeopardy with you. I’m also grateful to have bought one of the Brian Griffin DM books as well. I really liked your very heartfelt tribute song to Brian, very well done. Thank you for all you’ve done and introducing an amazing soul into our lives, grateful to have met you both at least on Zoom.

Thank you for this raw, personal video. I haven't been very active on social media recently, so I didn't know about Brian's passing until this video. I was shocked and sad, but your friendship and feelings of loss come across so strongly. I'm thankful to you for introducing him to us and letting us get to know him, his career and life story. My favourite DM cover art is 'Some Great Reward', and I could relate to Brian, having grown up in the Midlands amid an industrial landscape that's long gone. He seemed like such a warm, down to earth guy. Like you, I could've imagined him still being around in his 90s. I'm just glad that his passing seemed to be peaceful and that we got to know him through your channel. 💔

I’m a newer subscriber to your amazing channel but I can tell how much Mr. Griffin meant to you. I’m 52 years old which means I was 16 when I saw Depeche Mode in 1988 in Pasadena California. They were then and now my favorite band and I grew with their music. From a young teenager to the man I am today, DM has always been there for me. Their music following me to enjoy everything life has to give. A broken frame was always my favorite photograph and you brought the print alive with your beautiful song. Mr. Griffin was lucky to have a friend like you and he would be extremely proud
