Yes, the Gm Island is absolutely a real place, as is the GM box underneath the island. I've worked on a private 3.3.5 emulator back in the day, and it's incredible how many places regular players don't have access to. I've hanged out on the islands south of Tanaris, and on the part on the southern shore of Silithus, where there's a tauren farm and a cave nearby. This is one place players actually can access if they swim or waterwalk along the shore. There's also a small piece of land with some night elf looking stone ruins on the norhtern shore of Tirisfal Glades. The most amazing zone I've explored is The Emerald Dream. Regular players cannot go there. It's an incomplete raid that has no entrance, and is an entirely different map (id 169). It's a 3 part raid with 3 zones: Emerald Forest, The Verdant Fields, and another unnamed very dark zone that I assume was supposed to be the emerald nightmare. I had to do some trickery in order to go there even as a gm, as the zone was disabled in the .dbc files of the game. There's also an undeveloped battleground called Azshara Crater (map ID 37), an unused part of Scarlet Monastery (map ID 44), an unused Stormwind Prison (map ID 35). On 3.3.5 there was also a map of Stormwind, (map ID 723) that had all the coordinates matching the actual Stormwind map. I even remember copying NPC's from map 0 (Eastern Kingdoms continent) to map 723 via the database, just for laughs. I think that had something to do with terrain phasing that they introduced in Cataclysm. Possibly a test map of some sort, as terrain phasing works by overlaying maps, and those maps have to have the same coordinates.

I wouldnt mind if they finish the Karazhan Crypt raid in classic wow. I know we all want classic exactly as it was, but with the latest expansions being so bad, adding content to vanilla doesnt sound so bad.

The islands are used for the sceptre of the shifting sands questline. And the GM island has a hidden white room in the mountain That has been used for interrogation.AND nothing will be freaking patched. I need to edit this every time he makes a mistake.

#7 the south sea island are visited in the AQ opening quest chain. I believe you go there to get the quest to kill Dr. Weavil on Alcaz Island.

the isle is a part of the scepter of the shifting sand quest you had to talk to a naga which would speed buff you and when you went to grab narians book it would have already be stolen and all that would be left is a pile of dirt

you can still get to GM island by downloading the 3.3.5 machima tool and logging onto a WOTLK private server and using it. Your character technically does not go there but you can use a camera to fly around it. It is still there even today except a big portion of the sea has been cut away between the island and the mainland so it is impossible to swim there but with the machima tool you can still fly around it :)

With a game as big as World of Warcraft, of course there would be hidden places. There's even caves in Mulgore that are only accessible by flight, and most of them doesn't even has npcs. But that lead me into thinking, what if those instance open areas were accessible and had quests and contents for it? They are really big. Maybe would be interesting for some kind of Siege event, where the gates opens and people can invade and face tough foes.

#7 that island is for the Scepter quest of AQ ;) and you swim out there thanks to a naga in the water that teaches you water breathing. #6 Gm Island is reachable by multiple ways, Slow falling with incredible run speed and right angle can get you to the island, I missed it and flew past it a couple of times as a Warrior with Engineering, also there is a white room underneath GM island that you had to clip through textures and float down to it, which was the "interrogation room". #5 Might be released as Blizzard said that they will add new content in to classic and possibly fill the gap betwen TBC and Vanilla. I hope very much they will make The crypts a raid after you finished Naxx and a caster got the legendary staff, then that caster can make a portal for raid members to go through (Yes keep the gate closed until you have killed last boss in the crypts who has the key ;) ) #4 Is just a "stage prop" same as for thouse that fly with a gryphon over Wetlands they fly over that area and then the Dward/Gnome air strip that you can get to with speed boost+slow fall You can get inside Old Iron forge from there with speed and slow fall towards the center of IF ;) #3 is harder depending on what race you are playing, For a odd reason NE females have small hitbox and have harder to "wall walk" while Gnomes have a big just as tauren =S #2 That is also out in teldrasill ;) #1 rly this is your nr 1? . . . . Why not Hyjal ? You forgot.... Old Ironforge, Un-instanced ZF, Stratholme (So you get to see early Naxx entrance), the strange cave bettwen Lochmodan and IF where when you enter you are in Tanaris all of a sudden.. (Yes you are on kalimdor one moment, the next you are somewhere else), Under Stormwind, Behind Stormwind gate, Under Deadmines . . Damn you missed ALOT I could go on with this list.

@@copilots3159 Same here.. It also got me and a friend a bit angry since they added "under construction" road blocks in patch 1.8. But they were not there in earlier patches.. The troll village and then Hyjal was something all friends during LAN partys wanted to see. Emerald Dream was also more or less Finished but they scraped it and went with TBC Which got a few to quit.. and then it rly made almost all quit in TBC Classic since everyone remembered how sh*t tbc acctuly was.

It is not the only way to get down there. If you throw out your heartstone, and then use the thing for when you get stuck, you are able to get in there👍

Well, remember this. During Classic WoW, the crypts were locked, this was about Classic WoW, as it says in the title. The Crypts weren't open to the public at that time and was only set as a secret for players to find, as of now in BFA, it's open for players to gain the Lucid Nightmare mount.

gms used to bring you to the island based off of your ticket you put in. I remember being summoned for my ping issue in which the gm tried to help. I told him I had dial up and he couldn't believe that i was on the game let alone being able to do anything. We only had a 5min chat then i was ported back to my races starting point. Maybe it was a damn dream but I swear to god I remember this gm my whole life and i had quite a laugh talking to him about my dial up connection. I tried many times to make it back to the island but i don't think i ever made it back. Maybe i'm tripping hard but ive told this story to friends for years and like 90% sure it happened. With all these vids about if its real or not has me fucked up lol.

i know this is about classic but when i went to the secret farm in modern wow (found entirely on accident, i was just trying to swim to the top of the eastern kingdoms instead of running into every mob in my way on the paths) and theres actually an npc there now, a skeleton gnome i believe. i dont think it did anything but it was standing in the house thats on the farm

I remember going to Uldum a few days before it opened up. All the mobs were there but they couldn't attack me nor I them. I was running all around and then I happened to hear a bell ding and I looked down and it was a GM. He said something like, Hi Mistyblades, you having fun running around? I said yeah just checking stuff out. Then he asked me how I got there. I told him I went to the border of the fatigue sea and regular sea and walked in that way. Then he asked me where I wanted to go. I had some stuff to do in Org and bam I was there. I said thanks for the free ride. I did not get banned or anything. I did get the discovery of the parts I visited. But I was at max so it was xp that I loss. lol

What people never knew about GM island was, at any given time, there was dozens of GMs on the island invisible at all times so when people got to it, all they saw was the house and the boat lol.

That is correct. I worked as a GM for WoW when I lived in Albuquerque. When we logged into a server we would spawn at GM Island. That’s basically all we was, a spawn location. And you are correct, we are invisible to other players. If someone was on GM Island, we would teleport the players character to a major city. I think I only saw one player at a GM island

The islands off the coast of Tanaris were part of the quest chain for the scepter to open the gates of AQ. You were sent the to dig up and item from that mound you saw to find a ransom note just to get sent else where lol not sure if that was the original intension for it but that's all it was used for.

GM Island was never a rumour, at least not in Classic. Even in 2004 there was already a bunch of videos where you could see it. Also there was a bunch of methods to go there.

Somewhere way off the shore( can’t remember where) there are two ships that have bonefires burning in the center of them only can see them using eyes of the eagle, you can get into old ironforge as a hunter using eyes of the beast also.

In vanilla you could get feared through the gates to the Karazhan Crypts. blizzhackers got all these places in guides back in vanilla, a thing back in the day was spirit enchants on a level 1 troll warrior where you could not die to fatigue and explore more areas

I was in the area of the instance before the start of AQ. there are mountains at the sea and for a while you could climb mountains with a trick. that's how i got into this area.

Occasionally if you made a GM ticket back in the burning crusade the GM's would teleport you to GM island and solve your issue there and then teleport you back to where you were afterwards. :)

Wait. The south sea's island are apart of the Scepter of the shifting sands quest. At one point, a naga npc gives you a swim speed buff or item to get there fir a quest item at that mound with the shovels in it.

Yes but in Vanilla there was no way to get into it, It was more of a recent overhaul for it, If I recall the Karazhan crypt has some lore significance that it was meant to be in the books there was an upside down Karazhan that was twisted and demented to represent Medievs possession by Sargeras, but I think It was deigned too creepy to be put in or it was just never finished, Dunno to be honest. There's a non-usable flight path at the top of the Karazan tower in older versions which demonstrates it was probably meant to be a much larger dungeon than it ever released as.

@@noobyman333 yes in the old world it was meant to be a different dungeon altogether... however, time constraints and the way ppl were literally getting chills from the screams leading up to Thaddius in Naxx, it was deemed to spooky a place and scrapped/revamped to be released later

2008 I fell through the map while climbing the mountain that is on top of the caverns of time. From there my character slipped and slid on an invisible ramp and it plopped me right in the middle of GM island right where the GMs logged in like their spawn coords. They weren't happy about it but because it was an accident I didn't get banned 😅

Yeah we used to intentionally go to GM island back in the day. There was a point on the zeppelin you could jump off and swim to it without dying. There were never any GM's there though, and nobody I knew got banned.

Maybe the graveyard on GM island is just like any other graveyard in the game but for respawning anyone who dies on the island? So that if a couple of GM's decide to engage in a bit of PVP with each other on the island, they won't appear at a far away graveyard in the public areas. Seems like it would be more convenient to just put in a graveyard on the island for that purpose. That's my best guess, anyway.

The tomb stones on gm island is nothing special. It's just a spirit healer location. Like all the other ones, if you die, you can re-res there. I suspect that as a gm this might be your default re-res point not the nearest one like normal players, but that code is server side so we don't know it's actual function outside of a spirit healer. Things like the post boxes and cretters are server side too, so it's good to see videos from back in the day of this stuff to help with making private servers more accurate.

It’s been about a year since I tried, but assuming everything is the same as it was a year ago, you should still be able to get into Kara crypt. ( sorry if this advice is dated I haven’t played i a while) basically you fly to where the gate is underground. Then just fly up and kill yourself and then while you’re dead, walk past the gate and res, but you have to make sure your body is close enough to the gate to res on the other side. Anyways hope this helps.

South Seas Island was the original GM island, and then Blizzard left it dead after it was found by players early on. They didn't expect players to go that far out in the ocean. The one west of Darnassus was put in later, and harder to get to, but players of course did it again! Then bans started happening. Any other questions, hit me up on Wyrmrest Accord server. There is the magical river between Steppes and Elwynn where you can fish for flowers. There is a secret way under uninstanced Dire Maul. Someone mentioned the IF airport, and in addition there is a farm nearby with a Tunnel to Nowhere. Also you can climb all the way to the top of Mt Ironforge from the airport. And if you do it right, you can then climb down to the top of the IF gate.

you really dont know your wow do you. i just saw first part. its gilajims island based on giligans island tv show. then the other one is the isle of dr lapiz or something. theyr still in wow today but everything is sunk beneath the ocean and flat but the stuff is still there. il make more edits for silly mistakes if any more arise edit 1: the tombstones at gm island are just copies of the tombestones in the graveyard at duskwood. also inside of the huge mountain on gm island is a huge white box with a chair in the middle that players had to sit on while the GMs were questioning them for anything they did that needed GM interveneing. edit 2: the kara crypts was originally part off what was gonna be the original kara raid along with some wine cellar part but due to the raid becoming so big they cut it all out. kara itselff got cut down in size too inside of the building. in the end the crypts felt out of place for the game which was aid in a blue post on the forums and never saw the light of day but for some reason they never took the area out.

Because most of these new videos are just copies and to attract ppl (because classic is coming) while themselves dont know anything about those places. Atleast that is what I think sometimes. Not implying that it is actually the case here.
