Weird it sounds like it’s working unless it’s the 2 micro switches in the mechanism that flips the boot up once it’s locked

Hmm. When i press the button to take the roof down the windows only go down slightly but the roof won’t open.. But the boot is locked do you think that is the problem? A mechanic checked the wiring and everything was good.. The ECU was rebuild in 2023 so that shouldn’t be a problem.. I think it’s because the boot won’t open. Just want others opinion on it before i go deeper into it..

Possibly but if there is a problem with roof it locks the boot so it might be the roof that’s locking boot.does the boot open when fuse 16 is removed?

I don’t think it’s your lock then.it needs plugged into a diagnostic and read the 15 building blocks so you can see whats happening at each sensor

@@fixstuff5798 we checked everything the only thing that pops up is a “ trunk switch “ that is the only thing that pops up under diagnostic

@@user-uo1uh2xg8c @fixstuff5798 Did you find where the problem was? I think i have the same problem. Boot electronic unlock doesn't work. When i remove fuse 16 the boot electronic unlock is working. As for the roof, when i manually lift the thing (with 2 hooks) on the lower boot latch that enables the boot to open backwards the roof is working and i can open it, but when it opens and the boot closes the boot wont fully close (the thing with 2 hooks on the lower boot latch wont close) and the there is a little gap like 2 cm when the boot is closed. I can also close the roof while that gap is present on the boot but as i said i cant open the boot. If i manually close those 2 hooks on the lower boot latch the roof cannot be opened nor closed and the boot also cannot be opened. There is always 2 minutes of beeping when going over ~30kmh. I dont have OBD2 diagnostics. If you have any advice that could help please share it. Thanks!

My roof don't do anything, can I pay you to get it working again please, I bought the car of a trader, 77000 miles, all wires look OK, just get little clicking noise when try opening coming from boot area. Would love for it to work like your s.

Hi you need to plug it into a diagnostic and get the 15 measuring blocks and check it against the recent video I put up (roof closed) what does it do?are you getting bongs sounding

Would you be able to point me where is the trunk lid sensor? I think this is the problem. Thats why reg number lights are on all the time. This sensor is stuck open. This is the reason why roof is not operating. As i mentioned before there is no sound on the speedometer. Not for the roof or indicators. This will be next thing to fix

@@patryk2223 hi was travelling back from holiday but back to the grind today lol.ive put up the wee video with the measuring blocks for roof.there is a couple of different sensors on the trunk lid so you will be able to work out which one by disconnecting each one and look at the diagnostic to see one what changes

Hi the trunk isn’t opening because the roof has a fault.You need to plug car into diagnostic and get the 15 measuring blocks in the live data for roof to find out which sensor/s isn’t working.i have put up a recent video with the list (roof closed)to check it against.

Hi, Ialso have a faulty roof - I'm hoping you could help diagnose the issue. I've re-wired the full boot loom with a replacement and it started working - however It's started with a new fault - when you press the open button the windows go down and the boot locks and releases at the back - however it doesn't lift to allow the roof to be folded down into the boot ( it looks like it's unlatched ) - which bit opens the boot in reverse ?? Thanks

Hi do you have a diagnostic that shows the 15 measuring blocks.i put up another video (somehow I didn’t put it on this one)showing these and check your list against that and it should point you in the right direction.sounds like the rear mechanism isn’t doing its thing

@@fixstuff5798 Thanks for the swift response - I'll have a look for the other video and try get the data - probs be a few weeks before I get that info though. I think it's the motor / Rams that lift the boot outwards ( pivoted on the boot catch ) - but not sure which part of the mechanism is responsible for this ( is it the Rams on each side ? ) where you can see the tops abothe the carpet - the ones with 40mm clearance - thanks

@@user-wt6ov4bk5j no it’s the mechanism at boot lock there is a motor in there and 2 switches maybe a sticky micro switch.the rams will need reset to 40mm if you had to manually close roof though

​@@fixstuff5798 ​@fixstuff5798 No life at all. In the roof wiring in the boot, in the blue connector (blue and green) one of the wires was cut. When i connected reg plate light are on all the time. Even if i lock the car. Is that might be faulty boot module?

@@patryk2223 the boot not closing right will ping on the reg lights.you would need to plug it into a diagnostic to find out what is going on with it.ive got a short video to do with the 15 building blocks that I was supposed to put on this video but somehow missed it out that might help you
