Vauxhall Combo D stereo upgrade double din guide tutorial

Thanks for this video, i brought the same unit and this helped a lot with the fitting, I did however have to grind the back top of the plates fixed to the i unit to get the face looking good in the plastic housing

How did you connect the stereo to the connections in the van? Is there an adapter I can get?

There is an adaptor bud but all depends on the van and the stereo! If you have a little look through the comments you should find some products and links!

Hi Connor I never got around to adding them unfortunately but there is an option for them on the back of this unit, I believe it involves retrofitting a new stalk

@@Tarupah ah ok nevermind. Thanks for getting back. I've got the same van, and replaced the steering wheel with one that has the controls on. But linking them to an android stereo is difficult as there's not much documentation on these vehicles.

@@connoradams4804 there should be a wiring loom from the steering wheel controls! And no problem bud!

@@Tarupah the steering controls go through the clock spring, so I replaced the clock spring for one that has the needed connector. Problem is the other side of clock spring only has 4 wires coming out. Not sure if that's 2 for airbag and 2 for horn (as that's all that was there originally) or if it's a 12v+ & 12v- and canbus high & low. Even if canbus is there, I don't think there's a canbus wire to the stereo iso connector as it was just the standard radio in mine originally, quite old looking one. If there were wiring diagrams somewhere it would help massively, but can't find anything online anywhere.

Did DAB work when you were finished or do you need to add in a DAB specific aerial

I believe i had an adaptor for it from my old stereo from another Vauxhall but I’m sorry I can’t remember what it was. Just was the wrong connection type straight off the head unit
